SDSU lets MWC know it’s withdrawing??

GK and the merry men might be hard at work luring away a non watched team in a market that could care less about college football to masterfully backfill USC and get that reported 70mm a school from Apple.

Or maybe they are headed to the BIG X 😂😂😂😂. Either way no movement can possibly happen in the next 7 years or so I’m told so maybe it’s a head take.

I love this stuff

OT - An Inspiration From Coach Prime

Inspiration From #CoachPrime (@Deion Sanders)
Some people love him, and some people hate him…He certainly has a high social messaging profile. He writes a lot of uplifting messages. I recently read one of his twitter messages that struck home to me.
He tweeted, “Why do the majority of us focus on what we don't have instead of what we have? What we have is oftentimes what we need & what we want is oftentimes the catalyst of causing u to lose your focus. Don't allow a want to cause u to forfeit what u already have.”
Recently I have been feeling out of control about almost everything in my life…my cancer treatment, my extreme fatigue and my effort to get my new business up and running. Coach Prime’s tweet helped me refocus on what is important in my life. I have a wonderful wife who loves and supports me in any way she can. I have many friends, met and unmet who pray and support me and offer donations as they can. In my time of need, God lifts me up and restores my spirit.
Please say a prayer for my continued healing in body and spirit. To donate an amount, no matter how small, will help cover the medical expenses not paid by my insurance. Please click the link:
Blessings to all!

Kylan Fox update from LA

Colorado TE target Kylan Fox came to Los Angeles this weekend instead of taking his previously planned visit to Boulder. I talked to him at the OT7 passing tournament, and he said he simply didn’t want to worry about recruiting this weekend and wanted to be a high school kid with his friends.

It’s not a totally bad sign for the Buffs, but he is set to take an OV to Florida State next week still. He tells me he plans on making an official visit to CU for the Colorado State game.

His plan is still to announce a commitment in July, so we’ll see what happens. I don’t believe he’ll be announcing in favor of CU as it stands now but I do get the sense he is serious about taking that visit to Colorado during the season.

Tad Boyle-led USA U19 team falls in World Cup bronze medal game

The U19 team coached by Boyle and featuring Buffs freshman Cody Williams went 5-2 in the tournament, losing to France and Turkey

The roster has faced critiques that it didn't feature some of the best players who could have joined it. After breaking it down a bit, it's a hard point to argue against

USA U-19 lose bronze medal game

https://www.buffzone.com/2023/07/02...urkey-in-bronze-medal-game-of-fiba-world-cup/

“This is a group of tremendous young men who have great futures ahead of them,” Boyle said in a release from USA Basketball. “It’s my job as a coach to get buy-in, and I just couldn’t get buy-in at the defensive end of the floor. We had a short period of time to gel offensively which is why you have to rely on your defense and taking care of the ball. Tonight, we wanted to control the offensive glass and we didn’t, and combine that with 21 turnovers and number of possessions heavily favoring Turkey, we just weren’t good enough.”

Tad's post-game quote is eerily reminiscent of what we heard a number of times last season - that he was unable effectively motivate the players to get buy-in. Are the younger generation of players not responding to him and/or his coaching style? not to over-react but this pattern is not encouraging to me.

U19 Team off to the Semi's... Face the winner of France/Serbia tomorrow morning

Cody with 15 points on 7/8 shooting today. This kid is just really learning how to play the game. Despite his size and skill level it will take some time for him to fully develop his game in Boulder. He will not be an instant "star" and he will fit in nicely with the Buffs. He is the ultimate team player.
The game is at 9:30 am, MST

NCAA to extend no yearly signing limit in FB - other changes

This is all from Ross Dellenger twitter feed:

NCAA FB Oversight Committee has recommended that the DI Council extend a waiver thru 2024-25 that eliminates the football signing limit, sources tell @SINow
.

This would continue to permit teams to sign an unlimited number of recruits as long as they stay at/under the 85.

Per NCAA, DI Council approved these recommendations from FB Oversight:
- extend waiver thru 2024-25 that eliminates FB signing limit
- extend waiver thru 2023-24 permitting players to use their redshirt while competing in up to 4 reg. season games+any number of postseason games

The DI Council also approved a recommendation from FB Oversight to increase the number of officials visits from 56 to 70 for a one-year period starting April 1, 2023, NCAA confirms.

Lastly, NCAA FB Oversight approved a new structure for the Committee that creates separate FCS and FBS committees to separately manage subdivision-specific issues while collaborating on overall DI issues.

This was a part of the Transformation Committee recommendations.
