USA U-19 lose bronze medal game

“This is a group of tremendous young men who have great futures ahead of them,” Boyle said in a release from USA Basketball. “It’s my job as a coach to get buy-in, and I just couldn’t get buy-in at the defensive end of the floor. We had a short period of time to gel offensively which is why you have to rely on your defense and taking care of the ball. Tonight, we wanted to control the offensive glass and we didn’t, and combine that with 21 turnovers and number of possessions heavily favoring Turkey, we just weren’t good enough.”

Tad's post-game quote is eerily reminiscent of what we heard a number of times last season - that he was unable effectively motivate the players to get buy-in. Are the younger generation of players not responding to him and/or his coaching style? not to over-react but this pattern is not encouraging to me.

U19 Team off to the Semi's... Face the winner of France/Serbia tomorrow morning

Cody with 15 points on 7/8 shooting today. This kid is just really learning how to play the game. Despite his size and skill level it will take some time for him to fully develop his game in Boulder. He will not be an instant "star" and he will fit in nicely with the Buffs. He is the ultimate team player.
The game is at 9:30 am, MST

NCAA to extend no yearly signing limit in FB - other changes

This is all from Ross Dellenger twitter feed:

NCAA FB Oversight Committee has recommended that the DI Council extend a waiver thru 2024-25 that eliminates the football signing limit, sources tell @SINow
.

This would continue to permit teams to sign an unlimited number of recruits as long as they stay at/under the 85.

Per NCAA, DI Council approved these recommendations from FB Oversight:
- extend waiver thru 2024-25 that eliminates FB signing limit
- extend waiver thru 2023-24 permitting players to use their redshirt while competing in up to 4 reg. season games+any number of postseason games

The DI Council also approved a recommendation from FB Oversight to increase the number of officials visits from 56 to 70 for a one-year period starting April 1, 2023, NCAA confirms.

Lastly, NCAA FB Oversight approved a new structure for the Committee that creates separate FCS and FBS committees to separately manage subdivision-specific issues while collaborating on overall DI issues.

This was a part of the Transformation Committee recommendations.

CU and recruiting.

After Stanford went off the rails - I participated sorry.
I decided to look at some more numbers. Currently we are about 7th in ranking in the PAC and 3rd in average per recruit. We need to be able to also get to 20 recruits while maintaining a 3.2 or better star rating to be where I’d like to see us. 3.38 is great but we need 20 hs recruits and like most of life it’s not either or. You must have both

Right now we are in rivals ranking roughly
13th SEC
12th ACC
11th BIG X (12)
6th pac 12
7th Big XII (10)

Average star ranking we are roughly
9th SEC
9th BIG X
3rd pac 12
3rd ACC
4th BIG XII

Really interested to see how we end up. Also just how far ahead the BIg 2 are and how much further they are about to come without some changes.

What 2022 revenue figures say about Colorado and the Pac-12

Earlier this month, revenue figures from public Division I colleges were made public, giving us a peek at the financial well-being of these schools' athletic departments

I looked into what Colorado and the Pac-12's revenue numbers mean for the respective entities

Hard for me not to root for UH after this

It’s pretty contagious the energy they all have for the school and opportunity. I continue to stay in the minority and much prefer the BIG XII and it’s football culture over the PAC and elitist, football is an annoyance, culture.

Hope they do well moving up. It’s good for the sport to have these teams moving up and generating more excitement
