Fun CFP Scenario

Interesting discussion yesterday about first round hosts in the CFP. A potential, maybe likely, scenario of first round hosts is Notre Dame, Indiana, BYU or Colorado, Ohio State.

This would put all 4 home games, nothing changes if Boise flips with B12, in cities with likely poor weather or at least cold weather on Dec 20/21. Probably not what the CFP was hoping for.

It also would mean no SEC team gets a no first round home game. That would drive Sankey nuts and seem odd considering they by far have played the toughest schedules. Would be fun though.

This only happens if things play out like we think it will AND the OSU vs IU game is a very close affair so neither falls much.

I feel like this scenario plays out except for 2 B10 teams hosting. My guess is between the OSU vs IU game and the conference championship someone moves enough the committee can get the SEC a home game

4-star OT Carde Smith decommits from USC

@samspiegelman with the breaking news this evening. Four-star OT Carde Smith backs off his longtime commitment to USC. Deion Sanders and Colorado are making a push for the blue-chip recruit from Alabama.

SKOOOOO BUFFS!!! Beat them birds!!

Home game in KC?

What an incredible opportunity for Buff fans throughout the midwest to descend on Kansas City and flood an away stadium to create a home field advantage for the boys. We need to get there and carry this team to certain victory. ADRG needs to send the whole band and Ralphie whether or not either of them get on the field. Tuck Ralphie in her pen on the sideline and have the band playing the fight song from the stands. We need to fill that stadium with 40k+ fans many of whom would be less than 5 hours away from arrowhead. Denver alums have an 8 hr drive or a $350 plane ducket.

Lets go Buff fans. What an opportunity to win 3 games and get to the playoffs. The KU fans will be back in Lawrence thinking about the MBB team's next game. I want a traffic jam on east bound I-70 on Friday and a takeover of KC restaurants Friday night. Domination this weekend starts with the resilient Buff fans.

College Basketball Thread

I know we are right in the thick of the College Football Season but I thought I would start a thread to those who watch, follow and or care about basketball this year. Please feel free to comment on any game, any school on any day thay you might be watching or plan to.
I will start with State Farm Championship Classic (in Atlanta) that just tipped off a few minutes ago on ESPN.
* G1 has Sparty and #1 KU. My first observation is that KU has 5 new players from the portal and three of them are from South Dakota St, Miss St and NIU respectively. They all are expected to contribute this year for the Jayhawks.
Sparty also has some portal guys, one from Longview and one from Omaha (POY).
Even the Bluebloods are hitting the portal hard and getting kids from the smaller schools.
* G2 has #6 Duke and #7 Kentucky. This should be a real good one as Duke has the #1 Freshman in the Country in Cooper Flaggand KU has a new HC on the sidelines for the first time in 16 years with Wildcat Grad Mark Pope taking over for John Calipari, who is now the HC at Arkansas.

Quite a season

Quite a season. Who would have thought at this late stage of the season…

-That Oklahoma, Auburn, and Kentucky would have a combined in-conference SEC record of 3 wins, 16 losses.

-That Indiana would be unbeaten at 10-0, while Michigan, USC, and Nebraska wouldn’t have winning records.

-That Army would be 10-0, UConn 7-3, while Florida State is struggling at 1-9.

-That SMU would be in first place in the ACC, while CU and BYU share the top spot in the Big 12.

Quite a season.
