Deion Is Starting to Impress Me As a Coach . . .

. . . we're seeing adjustments, tactical decisions and sideline strategy that weren't in evidence last year. 2023 was a circus - with 2 very talented players in the center ring. That team wasn't good. At all. It was a bad team elevated by Shedeur and Travis. And yeah, I was pretty cynical. I just wasn't seeing the substance behind the flash.

2024? This is a legitimate good football team. It's also pretty well coached. Yeah, I can do without all the showboating and dumb celebrations but . . . well, get off my lawn. Thing is, Deion has throttled down on the hype and showmanship and seemingly has started to focus on the coaching aspect in all this. And it's paying off.

For me, Deion is easier to root for the less he's showboating and performing. When he takes it down from 11 to 7, he's better. While still being Deion.

I'm pretty impressed with what he's doing so far. If he sticks around (Florida State is very unhappy right now- just sayin'), this could really work after 2 and 12 hit the NFL.

Coaching Decisions

There were three important plays in last night's win vs Cincinnati that in IMO were very important to the outcome and continued success of this team and staff and I doubt any of the three will be headline material for post-game coverage. The two decisions to punt and pin despite being in plus territory in the 2nd half were solid coaching moves and paid huge dividends given that Cincinnati used up valuable minutes to dig their way out of the hole we put them in. Lastly, I want to give credit to HCDS's for his decision to pull and sit Shilo after his unsportsmanlike penalty in the 4th quarter. Keeping the coaching hat on instead of the Dad hat, speaks volumes about the importance of self dicipline and treating everyone the same. I was on Deion pretty hard earlier in the year for allowing Shilo to stay in the game despite getting flagged for similar bonehead moves but I was proud of his move last night.

All in all, a great win for this team and staff. Go Buffs

What up w Ralphie

We finally have a competitive team and our world class mascot is almost 4 hooves up. I am seriously embarrassed as Ralphie can barely muster a speed walk when the gates open to lead the team onto the field. Im not sure if the poor animal is too doped up from legal weed or simply is not thriving in her current role but someone seriouly needs to figure this out. WIth NAtional TV audiences and 5 star athletes in the stands we need to find a BUffalo that will pull 5 handlers around the feld like rag dolls as we used to see. We need opposing teams to stay fearfully off the field and the trailer to shake like an 8.0 quake is happening at the base of the foothills, when Ralphie puts down the landing gear.

This smells like government over-reach by PETA or possibly its just your run of the mill " bad hire" but it needs to be corrected ASAP. Anybody know who we can email to register a complaint

Lack of divisions

In these conferences is just silly. CU doesn’t play ISU or BYU and those two don’t play each other.

There are also going to be times where the final game of the season could be completely useless if the championship games are set to feature the same teams the following week. It could happen this year with Texas and A&M.

Not to mention there are completely arbitrary tie breakers opposed to settling these games on the field.

Beano Says

Just for you @NittanyBuff24 😉. I thought I’d make a prediction.
CU gets out early and leads comfortably at half.
Cincy fights back and makes it a game late into the 4th while frustratingly grinding clock.
SS tosses to a surprisingly healthy TH a big pass for touchdown midway through the 4th to go up by 14.
Cincy drives and scores with 1:30 left. Then fails the onside kick and CU wins by 7 by finally kneeling down instead of throwing one last bomb.

Beano says CU by 7 and take the over.

Hope this makes you some money @SoCo Buff

Cincy Prediction Thread

CU opened at 3.5 point favorite now up to 5.5 Over under 57.5

Little trivia we have played Cinci once before in 1972 won 56 to 14

And as far as what is a bear cat:
The word first appeared in print circa 1889 as a synonym for the giant panda. "Bearcat" is a simple translation of the Chinese word for panda-xiong mao-which means "bear-cat."
The Binturong (Arctictis binturong) is a species of the family Viverridae, which includes the civets and genets. It is neither a bear nor a cat, and the real meaning of the original name is lost, as the local language that gave it its name is extinct. Its natural habitats are in the forest canopy trees in the rainforests of Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Palawan Island.
