Colorado releases 2023-24 men's basketball non-conference schedule

A game against one of last season's Final Four teams and an in-state rivalry. Not a terribly challenging non-conference slate, but not totally uneventful, either. If only Rick Pitino were still at Iona...

Authentic Jerseys

This is cool. I have been waiting for them to do this...

Van Wells working well in the Buffs' new offensive system

Amidst the collectively underwhelming 2022 season for Colorado, center Van Wells found himself with a rare opportunity as a true freshman last year that is paying dividends now.

More on his growth this training camp:

How is this a good look

I understand what he is trying to say to guys but how on Earth did they think this was something worthy of posting to social media ?

OL Tyler Brown not practicing due to illness and NCAA eligibility

Tyler Brown has been dealing with mono and the NCAA to receive a waiver to be eligible this season. He has already used his free transfer.

Quote from OL coach Bill O'Boyle from practice today:

"It hurts us not having Tyler. I know the NCAA deals going on right now whether he's gonna be eligible or not. I can't take reps from a number two right now or number three, counting on a guy that we don't know if he's gonna be there or not. He's gone through some mono and some other things right now. So you're working. We're just trying to get him healthy man. I want him back in the worst way because I know what he brings to this whole group upfront, but first things first, man we gotta get him healthy. And we got to get him back where we know what he's where he's gonna be and if he's not eligible this fall, he can practice and he will learn he'll get better. Either way. He's going to get better out of this situation."

What Happened To Gary Patterson—-TCU Head Football Coach

Gary Patterson was paid more than $17.2 million in his final year as head coach, according to tax documents obtained by USA Today. Patterson and TCU mutually parted ways on Oct. 31, 2021, ending a 21-season run as head coach and a 24-season association with the program.Apr 11, 2023

School officials asked him to finish out the season, but he declined. Patterson later told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that the decision was made in part to “stop the noise” and negativity around the TCU program. The Frogs were 3-5 and 1-4 in Big 12 play.Jan 21, 2022..Patterson has since joined the Texas Longhorn coaching staff!

WATCH: OL coach Bill O'Boyle, Van Wells, Savion Washington

Great to hear how Van Wells has grown from last year. Appears that him and Shedeur have good chemistry and work well together. O'Boyle details Brown's status and how other individual players are coming along. both Savion Washington and Wells agree the Buffs' DL is tough to beat.

Tim Brewster working to get tight ends ready for Sept. 2

Tim Brewster is, "totally jacked,' to get Caleb Fauria back in the mix, Michael Harrison still has room to grow, Louis Passrello injured and Eli Yelverton has improved.

Overall interesting and continually developing situation in the tight ends room. More from Brewster here:

Commit downgrades

I keep a spreadsheet listing all of the stats on a player on the day they commit, and list their current stars on the day they did commit. Since 2024 guys started committing (First on 12/26/22) we've had five 4-star players commit - again ranked when committed. Now we are down to two, and none have decommitted. I swear I looked at it just a day or two ago and we still had 3 guys listed at 4-stars. I'm not even sure who they down-graded recently. I keep hearing it doesn't happen only to CU, but it sure feels like it.

WATCH: Tight ends coach Tim Brewster and Michael Harrison

Always good talking to Tim Brewster, gets you fired up for the season. The big news coming out of his availability is that Louis Passarello suffered a knee injury and is "gonna be out for awhile," he said. Caleb Fauria is on the path to coming back and Michael Harrison is stepping up in his new role.

Over / Under Game 2024

Hi All,

It is time to think about the Over / Under game again. I probably should have sent this out last week, but shtuff happens.

You can play for cash money, or free, but they results are kept separate. The cost to play for the money is $25. Last several years Dtown has held the money, so as long as he is willing we can do that again this year. Hopefully everyone can venmo or other method him your entry fee. Money has to be in to him by the start of game 1 on Sept 2. Note all of the money gets paid out at the end of the season to the top two or three or four (Depending on total paid entries). we do not pay weekly winners - they only have bragging rights for that week.

Here's how it works.

Each week I will send out a list of 10 potential game stats for you to make your choices. For each item you need to pick whether you think the actual stat will be over or under the potential stat. The list changes each week, so you have to make new choices every week. Special note: You have to reply with your picks on the official thread for that week. If your picks aren't on that thread, they don't count. Also it is up to you to check that your picks got posted - every year it seems like one or two don't really get posted for some reason, even though the person thought they did. What I like to do is post my picks, get out of the thread, then get back in to double check it really did get posted.

Here is an example of 4 stat lines that may (or may not) be on any game.

1) CU Points: 25.5
2) TCU Points: 24.5
3) CU Total yards from line of scrimmage: 355.5
4) CU Penalty Yards: 65.5

You make your choice for each item - if you think CU will score 27, you just say "Over" or "O".
If you think TCU will score 9 pts, you say "Under" or "U",
etc for all 10 items. Here's my potential responses:

1) CU Points: 25.5 - OVER
2) TCU Points: 24.5 - UNDER
3) CU Total yards from line of scrimmage: 355.5 - OVER
4) CU Penalty Yards: 65.5 - OVER

There will also be two tiebreaker questions each week and for those you have to pick a real number, you do not pick "Over" or "Under" for those. Some tiebreaker questions might be: Total # turnovers in the game, or CU average punt yards.

Let me know whether you will be playing for money or free. Hope to have a lot of guys wanting to play for the money.

Let me know if you have any questions. GO BUFFS!
