Deion Sanders' first commitment with the Buffs could end up as his highest rated before long. Winston Watkins Jr. had an outstanding summer on the 7v7 circuit and he continues to back up his ranking entering his junior season. The Rivals staff is updating the rankings for the 2025 class, and Watkins has solidified his spot among the top 10 at No. 8 overall this week. That also means he is officially a five-star prospect as well.

You can read more about Watkins and the other early five-star recruits in the class by hitting the link up top.

ESSENTIAL WEEK 1 GAME PREPARATIONS

First dilemma is whether to go with Gin or traditional vodka in the Bloody Mary's for the 10 am kick-off.
I usually prefer gin but seeing as we're playing TCU in Texas I will probably go with Tito's (Tx vodka).

The day will likely start with some Voodoo Donuts (brand new to Boulder) as they're running a special Colorado Buffaloes donut. My trusted scouts tell me it resembles a glazed donut with chocolate frosting and gold sprinkles - and tasty. I rarely indulge in such hyperglycemia, but one must make exceptions for such historic events.

Not sure what time the first Bloody Mary will debut, but we'll stick with that libation til halftime. Hopefully the Buffs haven't made me lose my appetite by then as Avery Buffalo Stampede brewskis will accompany the halftime brats, kraut, etc.
I'm counting on the Buffs keeping me awake for the second half without another donut.
A post game nap is almost a certainty before I settle in for more hours of week 1 CFB (finally).

So glad we can move on from all the speculation and see what luggage Prime has really brought and what our Buffs really will look like on the field. My internal clock will start ticking and recognize that with the start of another season, Christmas will be here before we know it.

Have fun gents, Go Buffs ! 🦬 🍩 🍻

Another Branch

Man this kid is going to be good. USC totally outclassed SJSU all night. They let them score because they were lazy which might be an issue I suppose against lesser teams. Damn though. They are loaded and to have a freshman like this. My buddy and I were marveling at how easy it was for him and to read this reporter you’d think the kid was just messing around.

To be young and talented. I never had to deal with that but man it must be special

Happy to be watching college football coverage again

Watching ESPN U this morning waiting for College Game Day. Dusty Dovorchek talked about this on the radio this week and again this morning picked Deion to beat TCU. I have heard one other on the radio also pick Deion in an upset. It is funny how its Deion not CU when they talk about us, but Ill take the upset predictions. Maybe these guys will be right and we get off to a great start. I expect TCU to cover, but if we win against TCU I would go into Nebraska feeling extremely confident.

DirectTV and Fox

They are currently in a contract dispute. Often these are settled disagreements between providers and networks that carry the NFL are solved before the NFL season starts. We will see what happens. This does not affect me as I have comcast, I did not even know this was happening until I found that Fox was not showing up in my hotel room last week.
