Recap of the Buffs' WBB first loss of the season yesterday at Paradise Jam against No. 10 NC State ⬇️

So bummed for their fanbase. Seemed like Smith built his team the right way with toughness in the trenches and just playing solid football (like an Utah lite.)

Now they are without a conference and good HC after a very good season. One would imagine a lot of players will hit the portal and some good coaches could be available.

Hopefully we have some opportunity, especially amongst their trench players, but just a bummer for that program.

Just the nature of the game these days.

Petros Papadakis was in the Fox studio yesterday then magically did the Air Force at Boise State game, then I am sure he was in the studio during halftime of one of the games, now is doing WVU at Baylor. I also think Tim Brando and Spencer Tillman did games both day and also whoever does the game with Brock Huard but maybe the last two pairs did travel, but I am pretty sure Petros did not.

Lots to takeaway from CU’s season finale including Ryan Staub, the run game, coaching changes and much more.

The Buffs final game of the season will be the battle of the backups: Ryan Staub vs. Luke Bottari. Xavier Weaver did not make the trip to Utah, also Trevor Woods is out again after missing Washington State.

It is unlikely that Oregon and Washington no matter the outcome on Friday will not at least get NY6 bowl games with one in the playoffs. I also do not think the PAC 12 will get 3 in the NY6 bowls. That means Arizona will go to the Alamo Bowl since none of the teams below them in the PAC 12 standings are within one game.

OSU/Michigan, The Iron Bowl and the last PAC 12 regular season game ever all happen today

BTW I know Army/Navy is a regular season game, but it just feels different.

It’s early but man this is sweet so far. I thought I had it on good authority that UM couldn’t score or stop anyone without cheating. Lmfao

Talent is talent - as every major analyst and coach has said - including our head coach.

UT got it done yesterday but that’s all I got that I wanted. Maybe today will be better

Really happy CSU beat #8 Creighton who beat Iowa convincingly in Omaha. CSU is going to be a potential tourney team at the end of the year so the buffs need this win for their resume. Quality road wins are valuable at the end of the year. This buff team should not be a bubble team but with HCTB, anything is possible so lets get the quality win on the road. TO do that Diop and Dak should not play. We dont need their height and we can find other games to give them valuable experience. With the top 8 guys getting the time we should easily handle CSU, even on the road in a hostile environment. We have enough senior presence with DiSilva, Obrien Lamkin and Hadley along with the experience of Simpson, and Hammonds that the environment should not be a problem. We should crush them on the boards and even with Nique and Stevens we out athlete them pretty much across the board.

THe key will as usual be TOs. HCTB team identity has always been high turnover but early this year i thought maybe we had turned a corner. After FSU im extremely in the camp that deep down this team is going to be a typical high-turnover team for HCTB. No excuse for this team to have more than 10 TOs in any game. Cody, DiSilva and Lamkin especially have got to figure it out, maybe OBrien as well, and HCTB ought to be ashamed if this team cant figure it out. Disilva is mystifying to me. For 4 years we have watched him give up weak strip-the-ball turnovers. If he cant improve his grip strength he can certainly figure out how to protect the ball. Every team we play knows they can strip the ball from him and until he proves otherwise, it will continue to happen. That wont play well in the NBA BTW.

10 TOs or less and the buffs win easily. 15 or more and we lose without a doubt.
