Official Game Thread: Colorado vs Washington

Pac-12 opener tonight for Tad and the Buffs against Washington. Buffs are very, VERY undermanned, with Cody Williams still out, Bangot Dak out with an illness, and Tristan da Silva out after tweaking his ankle at practice yesterday. I would expect a 7 man rotation with Diop and Carrington getting some minutes off the bench, but starters will have to carry a huge load. Washington starting center Franck Kepnang is also out for the Huskies

Starters for CU:
KJ SImpson
Julian Hammond
J'Vonne Hadley
Luke O'Brien
Eddie Lampkin

Washington Starters:
Sahvir Wheeler
Paul Mulcahy
Moses Wood
Keion Brooks Jr.
Braxton Meah

Official game thread: No. 8 Colorado WBB vs No. 12 Utah

Going to start doing threads for the WBB games in conference. Big one today against No. 12 Utah and the reigning Pac-12 POY Alissa Pili. Utah's starting PG and second best player, Gianna Kneepkens, is out for the year, but the Utes can really shoot it from the outside.

CP Recruiting Model

Just wanted to post the below so we can stop having the argument on the board between HS vs TP. Let’s just accept as long as CP is here we'll never see a class of 20+ HS kids. There isn’t a long enough trend to say whether the TP model will work or not. There are a few schools that are having a lot of success with the TP model. I think CP will find the balance in the next cycle.

Congratulations @Nikkieds on being featured a few times (so far) on Coach Prime. How long till she blow up and become too big for this board? Rumors all over Twitter that ESPN is going to offer her a spot on Gameday, others say she will be on Fox Big Noon Kickoff.

House rebuilt and moved home in time for Christmas

A big and humble thank you to everyone on here who helped my family when we lost everything in the Marshall fire. The last 2 years have felt like sprinting while running a marathon but we are home and the kids are happy. I truly understand now what it means to own nothing but have everything I need. Merry Christmas you filthy animals!

FSU beginnnig to leave - this is big

FSU is gone and they will have a home as they are going super league. Emergency meeting tomorrow which is simply a formality that must be done.
Clemson, Miami and UNC will go as well

CFP ends in two years and that will hasten the Super League. My guess is there will be a one year extension on the CFP and after three more seasons the breakaway will be in place.

Things will pick up speed and the rumors will be fun. How many teams? Who is in and who isn’t? What’s the league set up? What of the majority of schools that won’t be in the 30-40 teams ?

No conference will look the same by 2027/28. College football is in its final act at the highest level. What comes out of this will look completely different at all levels and the unions who are paying for all the lawsuits that helped speed this up are licking their chops at all the new dues.

Going to be a fascinating and fun next few years if you like this stuff

OT: Peacock releases viewer numbers for their exclusive NFL game

Note one wild card game will be on Peacock exclusively.

Saturday’s Bills-Chargers NFL regular season game averaged 7.2 million viewers on the NBC streaming service Peacock, per Nielsen fast-nationals, a figure that includes over-the-air simulcast viewership on the NBC affiliates in Buffalo and Los Angeles. Per a source, those simulcasts averaged 1.12 million viewers (746K in LA and 374,000 in Buffalo). That would leave the Peacock-only audience at around 6.1 million.

Article from News Stand today tracking the performances of players who left CU. I wish all these kids well and only repost to illustrate the overall (IMO) improvement of the roster; others may differ. Only Becker and Roddick are on my list of wish-they- stayed. But that is spilled milk under the bridge - or some equivalent mangled metaphor. GO Buffs 🦬
