The sun is shining. Spring is here. Life is good. Thought the board could use this. I tuned in for a minute and felt like an all out WWE brawl. Guys making the same types of statements they accuse others of and say they don’t want on the board then getting fired up over stuff.

I think we need a big group hug and a walk in nature.

Hey guys. Great stories as usual. This is about commits list. Is 2024 not getting updated anymore as we transition to BIG XII? I don’t see the latest commit on here which asks the question is he a walk on (I haven’t read the report yet on him so if that’s already known my apologies) ? Also why are we leaving two kids on there that aren’t ever going to actually sign with us. I’d love to see this cleaned up so we know where we actually sit for 24 as the TP promises to see us lose another dozen maybe and add some more bodies as well

Story on the Buffs' running back room, and how they think 2024 will look much better on the ground ⬇️

Good for her. What a career. I’ve always thought 70-75 is a good age to slow down and consider retiring. What a run she had and at my favorite school not named CU.

It's obviously early, but currently CU has no commitments for the 2025 recruiting class. Among the Big-12 schools, Houston is the only other team with zero commitments. Texas Tech has 10, Baylor 9, UCF 7, and TCU 6. I know, commitments can decommit, but it's a lot better to have them than to not. Hopefully this isn't a sign that we're going to once again have the smallest recruiting class among power-schools. However, there may be a reason for our lack of commitment success so far -- CU appears to be aiming high, at blue-chips who have blueblood offers, where it's a lot harder to lock down a commitment. If we're holding off on commitments from lower-ranked 3-stars, then a lack of commitments might make sone sense.

I think the real story this season is that the scoring record was broken, by a woman. That's big. It kills the stereotype that women can't score as well as men, which is what keeps people from supporting it.

Yes, it's a good story that South Carolina was an undefeated Champion. But it isn't their first. In fact, they've won 3 out of the last 7 Championships. As far as an undefeated Champion, UConn has 6 of those. So while it's a good story, and a great achievement, it's nothing we haven't seen before.

But a woman, scoring more than Maravich, since 1970, is a historical moment. A woman beating Steph's 3 point record is a historical moment. This tells us that women's basketball is just as entertaining as men's basketball. THAT is what it will take to gain the support they deserve. When I hear the story of the Championship game is Raven Johnson's great defense against Clark, and she still scored 30... well, that's how we described great men players. "They are going to get their's, but if we can hold them under..."

And when you put together the idea that the great scorer didn't even win the Championship because she played against a better team, now you've got entertaining basketball that everyone can support. The old stereotype of a 20-14 game is over. These women can score just as well as the men and it's very entertaining!

I HATE that some groups use these women as pawns in their race war. I wish we as humans could get past this. I guess the best I can hope for is for me to work on myself, and make sure I'm not caught up in the BS.

In summary, I think it's amazing that the college basketball scoring record is held by a woman. I thoroughly enjoyed watching women's basketball this season and will continue as it's only getting better. I look forward to the next great scorer, and maybe the record will be broken again!

Prime Rips Into Team

The UConn/Purdue matchup is pretty special. It has a battle of big men likely we rarely see in the final game, two schools whose identities are more with hoops than the gridiron, and unlike many years, the final game matches the nation's two best season-long teams.

UConn is a special case. It has the Hurley who's easy to like is their coach; he embodies the thing that's so different with college basketball vs football -- the identity of the team being with the coach far more than the players. You could argue that UConn has the best program in college basketball, with five national titles in the past 25 years. All this from a school without power-football, and located in a little town with 15,000 people not exactly in the heart of high school hoops recruiting.

With Purdue, you have that Indiana-basketball mentality, although the Boilermakers, Hoosiers, and Irish have hardly been the national powers their mindset wants to be. But the state lives and breaths basketball.

What will this game revolve around? Offensive rebounding? The three-point shooting percentage? If Edey can dominate Clingon? Or perhaps those animated coaches on the sidelines? Edey is so awfully dominant it makes you wonder how anyone beats the Boilers. But then, it's rare to see a team with the aggressive intensity for an entire 40 minutes like you do with the Huskies.

What a game.

Starke (Fla.) Bradford cornerback Malakai Murphy has committed to and signed with Colorado, and he announced his choice Thursday afternoon. The 2024 recruit only had smaller offers, with Stetson being among the most notable, but the Buffs became involved just a few weeks ago and things moved quickly.

He shows a nice ability to come up and make plays plus he has some versatility to his game as well. Seems like a solid late and under-the-radar pickup for the Buffs.

Bengals HC Zac Taylor Saturday evening here in SW Ohio. Wife and I were out at a local bar/grill for dinner. In walks the coach and his kids, who were in basketball unis - must have had a youth game close to me. Of course, once he was recognized, he was mobbed. He was very gracious with everyone though, and took the time to chat and take pics with anyone who wanted. Wife and I got our pic with him, but I dont know how to upload it here. He is really a mellow down to earth dude to be honest.

Anyway, knowing he (Taylor) played at Nebraska and against the Buffs in 05 and 06 (I think), I took the opportunity to loudly state GO BUFFS!!! as he walked by the table I was at. He smiled, stopped and turned, and said 'I wont hold that against you' and we had a laugh. He introduced himself and we talked for a few. Another 'in' I had with him is that my college roomie (who I have spoken about here) who went into coaching recruited Taylor when Taylor was at Butler County JC in Kansas (Jayhawk League). Taylor said the name was familiar (of my coaching buddy) but that was 20yrs ago so I did not expect him to remember. When I told him my buddy and I went to Dodge City JC (same conference) he said he hated them ha.

For all you fantasy geeks out there - he told me Burrows wrist is fine lol.

And since he mentioned he wouldn't hold it against me for being a CU fan, he said we got a good one in our new DC.

My coaching buddy has always told me that Taylor has one of the best football minds he has ever run across in his 35yrs experience. Lets hope some of Taylors mental horsepower bled onto our DC.

Anyway, pretty cool experience. I could hear people calling friends, etc saying Taylor was in the place. Felt bad for a kid and his dad who showed up after Taylor left all decked out in Bengals gear and the kid having a football, presumably for Taylor to sign.
