Official Game Thread CU vs Oregon

Wind blowing through Folsom today shaking the goal posts around a bit. The Buffs and the Ducks will play in 16 to 20 mph wind conditions, but I don't think the wind will effect the Ducks too much. Alex Fontenot will be back today in the Buffs backfield after being absent due to an injury for eight weeks.

TE Caleb Fauria not in uniform during today's warmups. He experienced an injury last week. J.T Shrout the starting quarterback today, as expected and Austin Johnston will start at center over true freshman Van Wells.

It's @Craig Meyer and I's first time watching the Ducks in person and we both have them winning 50-25 and Craig has Oregon 59 CU 20.

How is everyone feeling about this matchup?

Mark Johnson: Buffs Will Have New HC By ~Thanksgiving

One of the benefits of leaving Folsom at the start of the 4th qtr. yesterday was getting to hear Mark Johnson and Gary Barnett on the post-game show.

Mark Johnson mentioned several times that we can expect to see a new HC named around Thanksgiving. He seemed very confident in this statement.

That would leave me to believe that they have a specific person (or maybe a couple of people) in mind.

Seems like it would allow time to finalize a recruiting class.

USC and UCLA hung on but dang.....

We needed more convincing wins than that. The voters want any reason to keep Bama up high and this helps with that. With 2 losses they may very well be ahead of both of them or at least UCLA which is not where they belong. The PAC has a real chance down the stretch here and what we need is a close game betwen USC and UCLA - dont care who wins but it should likely be USC as they are I think the better team in the eyes of the committee. 30-20 would be good as long as its clsoe the whole way so UCLA doesnt fall to far.
This is the year we finally have a shot to truly back in the playoff. Utah was a nice story but was never really going to be in. Oregon or USC could make it I think as it seems really unlikely that anyone but OSU and UGA go undefeated and I think for OSU its a reach still.

AP Poll

Saw this coming. USC and UCLA didn’t do their jobs last night and LSU got the mythical best Bama bump, even if Bama is more like a 3 loss team this year than some unbeatable juggernaut as in the past.

The SEC and BIG really control things. The PAC and its disjointed, leaderless mess and time zone no one cares about continue to hurt it.

UCLA and USC in the BIG this year are likely ahead of Oregon right now deservedly or not which I don’t think they are.

But none of of this or Colorado being in the PAC bothers me at all. 😂😂

For those who doubt Brian Kelly

This is why he will be the latest in a line of LSU coaches to win the National Championship. He can flat out recruit and coach. Done it everywhere he has been.

It also throws water on those who claim you can’t keep recruiting talent for fear of making your starter transfer. Talent wants to play with talent and is always replaceable with better talent.

Kelly may end up as good as Saban one day though an expanded playoff is going to make stockpiling talent and playing weaker schedules OOC harder as we move into P2.

Mike Norvell...

Maybe CU should target Norvell. Let's be real here in that there is no other real destination for Coach Prime than Florida State. I started briefly looking around and I am not the only one thinking this way.

It would be just like CU to be caught staring at our collective belly buttons while other teams are driving their process forward.
