Trey Sanders

This running back is in the portal. He is no relation to HKDS, but he already reached out. Give me a call unc, and I’ll come play for you. He was a five star running back out of high school. He had injuries at Alabama so it hasn’t worked out. He is healthy now, and wants to play at CU. He is six foot and weighs 214 pounds. Has elite speed. What do you all think?

Game thread: CU-Oregon State

Just got to the Events Center a few minutes ago, with CU and Oregon State set to tip off in about 45 minutes

KJ Simpson is out on the court and warming up. Tad Boyle had said Thursday that Simpson would play tonight, but still notable. The big question tonight is how the Buffs follow up a big win, something they've struggled with throughout this season

Feel free to come here with any thoughts, observations and questions over the course of the night. I'll provide some updates both on here and Twitter

USC Students File Class Action Lawsuit Alleging Inflated College Rankings

USC is the gift that just keeps giving. No doubt the Big 10 is going to love this.

Pac 12 bball

AZ loses to 6-10 WSU at home now sitting at 2-2 in conference.

Can’t decide if this is good or bad for the conference. The Pac 12 rarely gets the respect it deserves come selection time. Looking at the standings I think this at best a 4 bid league and possibly 3 depending on what ASU does. My guess is this type of loss is looked at negatively but AZ went undefeated OOC and played many good teams, now they come in conference and have two losses early. Maybe they are just playing bad too, they escaped Washington at home the other night as 18 point favorites.

CU WBB: Buffs beat #8 Utah by 10

Team is now 13-3. JR has turned the corner on this program. Now one of the toughest teams to play on the road. Ranked teams not coming into the Events center and thinking they can win. If not for a double OT 1 point loss at Texas Tech, this team is top 25. Goes up against another top ranked team in Arizona next. Win that game and it's probably another trip to the tournament if they continue to hold serve at home.

The 1% all coaches hope for in the TP

Verse is a very good player who grew and was coached by fantastic coaches during his collegiate career. He went from no FBS offers to a potential first round pick. Few TP players make major impacts outside of the QB position but there is the 1% or so that do and you just hope you find them.

Cool story and a testament to Norvell that his guys are for the most part coming back. Verse isn’t the only early round guy to stay. That’s the kind of culture we want to build at CU.

Colorado routs Oregon, 68-41, days after gutting loss to Cal

Colorado turned in one of its best performances of the season less than a week after recording one of its worst. A consistently inconsistent team if there ever were one

Story from tonight's win

Game thread: CU-Oregon

Apologies for the late post, everyone. I got back in town at 5:30, had to dig my car out of a mountain of snow and ice and then traffic getting to the arena was a nightmare. Long, long day

Anyway, let's get a game discussion started here. Saw there's already a thread open on KJ Simpson, who's out tonight with an illness, but feel free to pitch in any thoughts, questions and observations here

Big move for TxAM

With Jimbo and staff ability to recruit this could be fun to watch. They still need a QB IMO but Petrino can call plays and develop offensive players.
I think it’s a year away and a developed QB before they go really big, but 2023 could be quite the show and a bounce back for them.

Coach Prime Docuseries on Amazon

Just got through the first episode. Pretty Good so far.

From the news stand, CUATG looks at o-line depth...

This is obviously going to change between now and Feb, but o-line and receiver have undergone a bit of a transformation. O-line is the unit to focus on this spring:

Offensive line

Eligibility:

  • Senior … Landon Beebe (TR)
  • Junior … Gerad LichtenhanJake Wiley … Alex Harkey … Tyler Brown (TR) … Isaiah Jatta (TR)
  • Sophomore … Van Wells … Luke Eckardt … Jackson Anderson … Savion Washington (TR) … Jack Wilty (TR)
  • Freshmen … Travis Gray (Fr.-R) … Carter Edwards (Fr.-R) … Hank Zilinskas (Class of ’23)
If one were to create a depth chart, it might look like this:

LT - L Beebe (6' 3" 295), Travis Gray
LG - T Brown (6'3" 315), Wiley (6'6" 310)
C - Van Wells (6'2" 290), Hank Zilinskas (6'3" 275)
RG - I Jatta (6'6" 310), Wilty (6'5" 305)
RT - Washington (6"8" 340), Lichtenhan (6'10" 315)

TxAM rare technical

This is an odd story about a technical pre game for forgetting jerseys and delay of game.
That was interesting as I didn’t know that was a thing

The best part of the story is that the coach took the blame. I love seeing these class acts in coaching just when it feels like they are all disappearing. Such a solid move.
