Said all along, the only way the Chargers stay in San Diego and/or San Diego has a stadium to host the Bowl games and the Aztecs in a few years (Qualcomm will be razed) is if they somehow avoid a public vote. But the Mayor has been promising over the past few months that will not be the case and there will be a public vote.

Today, the CSAG (Mayor's task force) will announce a plan that does not involve a public vote. The Chargers will be asked to contribute more than the 200M they have agreed (probably close to 300M), they'll be asked to raise ticket prices, sell PSL's (something the Chargers have said won't work in SD), bridge loan from the County (County should have more skin in the game IMO), revenue bonds, etc. We'll find out today at 1pm.

Anyway, on the surface it sounds like there's a chance. But will be interesting the Chargers response to the plan. My feeling is if its presented like rumored, they aren't going to be happy and the LA Chargers are going to get done sooner rather than later.

Anyway, its been brought up more than a few times over the years. We'll see today. Story
