Camp is coming to an end quickly! Another report and interviews today!
Practice Report:
BOULDER-- With nearly two weeks left before the first game of the season, the team is starting to kick it into high gear and get prepared to take on Colorado State.
After practice Coach MacIntyre was asked about if the team was ready, he was very blunt about his answer.
"No. But I know we'll be ready when we get there. We got 15 days, so we'll be ready that fifteenth day."
There is no doubt the team needs improve on all areas of the game before they take the field.
"We'll do a lot more game type simulations, where we will have both teams on the field and then run on special teams and substitutions, all the functions of a team, we'll do that quite a bit between now and the first game."
"So at the game the kids are use to that, they're calm in that situation."
Not only do they need to keep working before the game they also need to decide who is going to play and most importantly who is going to be in that starting lineup.
"We'll head into that starting next week."
The offensive line is position group that is most in question right now, it will be interesting to see who gets those starting spots.
It's going to be fun to see Coach Chiaverini in action come September 2nd. Coach Chiaverini brings a lot of energy to practice and is helping a lot of the receivers with their confidence. One player in particular, Devin Ross. It's easy to see that Coach Chiaverini doesn't shy away from getting on the guys when they don't make plays and that has been helping Ross throughout this camp.
Ross is going to be a player to watch this season, will he make bigs plays when the team needs him most or his going to fall short again like last season? Coach MacIntyre thinks it's going to be different.
"He's had a good fall, he's made plays and done some good things there. It looks like he feels more comfortable."
The team has a great attitude going into these last few days of camp. Focus is going to be key for this team this season. Winning that first game of the season is going to help propel the team through the rest of their games. It should be a good momentum booster.
"Playing CSU in the first game, there always even a little more hype to it. We want to get off to a good start."
There will be no interviews tomorrow, but I will be posting an evaluation of the offense throughout fall camp tomorrow.
