. . . are the only 3 sure things in life.

All in all, a successful season by any metric. But next year the training wheels (some would say crutches) come off. No more generational 2-way Heisman Trophy winners to bail out sub-par schemes and OL line play. No more Shedeur . . . doing whatever the hell Shedeur does when he's locked in and not running for his life.

Next year Deion has to show that he can build a football team, coach and scheme without the Unicorns. Job 1 : He's gotta build an offensive line and actually commit to running the ball. And Lesson No. 1 with Job No. 1? No more G5 OL transfers. They're not good enough . The good news? BYU is Ex. A on how to create and scheme an offense without rappers in the locker room. It can be done.

Shurmur? I'm willing to give the guy a chance to design an offense without his QB's old man looking over his shoulder. Shurmur is an old school, NFL-style, run first offensive coach. What CU was running was NOT a Shurmur offense. That was a 2 and 12 offense - I'm sure PS's skin was burning as he saw #2 run 25 yards backward because 12 wasn't open and his OL couldn't run block a cheerleader. I don't blame Pat Shurmur at all - that was NOT his scheme out there.

Hopefully, next year Deion can commit to coaching and development without feeling obligated to promote his kids - actual and by association. He says he wants to do it and he's throwing out all the right signals. Let's hope he's being genuine.
