Assistant coaching moves in CFB

So odd to see head coaches becoming assistants by choice. I wonder if it’s for a few reasons:

1. Being a head coach is harder than ever
2. Being an assistant in the P2 pays as well or more than being head coach at Buffalo etc
3. Coaches see the P2 as a path to the NFL quicker

Expanded Playoffs

The move to 14 makes sense to me until we make the shift to two levels. The P2 wants more at large and from my perspective they deserve it. They are just at a different level, invest more and have for years, and they are by far the highest watched teams (@rward yku might tell me I’m wrong but don’t think so. Your the data guy though on this).

My question is why 14 instead of 16? Do you really need to preserve a bye for the top teams? Do you preserve the bye to give those teams a better shot to be in the finals which will make better ratings?

Anyone have any solid thoughts on this ?
Also would anyone beside me and @HighlandsCPA want a second level of competitive playoffs they would actually watch?
So much change happening and the big stuff is coming over the next 3 years. Lots to talk about until then.

Buffs NewsStand - Feb 24

Game Thread: No. 11 Colorado WBB at No. 7 USC

Buffs women back in action tonight, kicking off a brutal LA road trip with in the Galen Center against JuJu Watkins and USC. CU won the first meeting in a tight, low-scoring battle in Boulder about a month ago. Buffs, USC and Oregon State all tied for second in the Pac-12 at 10-4, with UCLA right behind them at 10-5, so CU looking for at least a split this weekend to try and secure a top 4 seed and a bye in the conference tourney. Change for the Buffs in the starting lineup, as Kindyll Wetta gets the nod over Maddie Nolan, presumably to guard JuJu.

Starters for CU:
Jaylyn Sherrod
Kindyll Wetta
Frida Formann
Quay Miller
Aaronette Vonleh

For USC:
JuJu Watkins (Leading scorer: 27.5 PPG)
McKenzie Forbes
Kayla Padilla
Kaitlyn Davis
Rayah Marshall
