Hopefully no one freaked out seeing his name like he's injured or something, but after the first 3 games, 2 things are very clear:
1. Kid can take it to the house anytime he touches the ball; and
2. He is a big liability when he is on the field and the ball is not in his hands.
He simply cannot block at his size. He got run the hell over in both the NU and CSU game when trying to block and wasn't able to even effectively chip to slow down the rushers. He is listed at 170 lbs and, even though he may have impressive squat numbers for his size, he can't stand in there and provide any protection on blitzes, etc.
Until the OL becomes at least competent, perhaps spit him out wide or in the slot and use him more like a WR or use more split-backs with a bigger back like Smoke, Hank, Wilkerson, McCaskell etc. to help pick up the rush and let Dylan come out of the backfield after he tries to chip, etc.?
He's too dynamic to not have on the field, but just can't block at his size.
Thoughts?
