Lineup shift

The last 10 minutes and 2 OTs against USC was about the best 20 minutes of basketball we have seen all year form the Buffs. THe Buffs played without a true center and were able to switch on ball screens for all 5 players as a result. It certainly helped when the USC center fouled out but the 6 buffs that played have proven ability to defend and rebound. The defense was outstanding and the momentum created an impressive offense. I hope we see more of that down the stretch. I think we can switch with all 5 players on the court from 1 thru 9 with the lone exception of our starting center. I like alot of what he brings but he has been struggling of late and I wouldnt mind seeing DAK get some of his minutes down the stretch. DAK has some limitations but his athleticism and length can not be ignored. Even when beaten he can block shots from behind very effectively.

HCTB is fiercly loyal so I doubt much changes but this would be an interesting move in an effort to salvage a dissapointing season so far.

Most anticipated games this year

Besides CSU and NU which I suspect are on most people’s list I’m just curious who you are most looking forward to seeing us take on.

For me it’s

CSU
NU
OSU
KU
KSU
Utah

I think those teams will be the big tests and good markers of where we are. CSU shouldn’t be but for now it is. The others show us how far we have come and how far we will still have to go to win the confercne

It was not immediately clear whether the service, which will be available on ESPN+, Hulu and Max, will include linear sports properties such as NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball games. WBD is the only of the three companies that streams its linear properties direct-to-subscriber, having just months ago launched a Bleacher Report-branded sports tier on “Max” that includes all games carried by TNT and TBS.

Well it finally happened last night....

Yours truly went to a college basketball game. Dayton v Duquene. Son in law had 4 suite tickets in the 'Flyer Club' for the game. Free food, drink, etc and wonderful seats. I made it until 2 min to go and had to leave. Had enough. Hoops just isnt my thing. Great rowdy crowd though. Packed arena. Dayton I guess is pretty good. Didnt even know the teams records until today lol.

Big Game Tonight

#10 Iowa Stae visiting #3 Houston tonight @ 7 pm on ESPN.
Must watch for us Hoop fans.

I don't profess to know what kind of NIL the Cyclones have (and they do have nice facilities) but man, they have one helluva team coached by TJ Otzelberger.
TJ had a good run at South Dakota State (2 NCAA births in 3 years) then was sub 500 in 3 years at UNLV but Iowa State hired him anyway (he was an Iowa State AC prior). So far, in this his 3rd year at Iowa State he has amassed a 61-53 record and 2 trips to the Big Dance including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2021-22.
As a few of us have been saying, you just have to know what to look for in a HC if you choose to move in another direction.
Oh, and as side note he makes $1.5/year, which I am sure will be bumped up substantually, and soon I suspect.

Edit: I would like to add here that Iowa State has amazing fan and administration support. They have been ranked as high as #4 so yes, they are a better basketball school than we have ever been. But still...

Enjoy the game.
