Buff Ski Team has a chance in today's Natty Championship in Steamboat......

Watched the mens and women slalom event last night under the lights in Steamboat for the Ski Natty Championship. Gold medal for Wahlquist (M) and Lusac (W) and the team gained 5 points on Utah. CU has the best Nordic team i believe and today in the final event of the national championship the team needs to make up 51 points on the Utes. Definitely a long shot but its in our crib so who knows as the 20k classic event can have interesting outcomes.

The men need to close the gap at 10 am and the women have to crush the field at noon. Keep good thoughts.
Go Buffs.

Game Thread: Colorado vs. Oregon State

Happy Saturday everyone! Buffs in Corvallis today for their final regular season game. What a season it has been for the Buffs, but they're ending strong as they look for their sixth straight win against the Beavers, who are currently last in the Pac-12. No Cody Williams and no Julian Hammond today. Starters:

Colorado
Luke O'Brien (6.4 ppg)
J'Vonne Hadlley (12.2)
KJ Simpson (19.8)
Tristan da Silva (16.4)
Eddie Lampkin (6.9)

Oregon State
Jordan Pope (17.9 ppg)
Dexter Akanno (10.6)
Michael Rataj (8.4)
Tyler Bildeau (14.4)
Chol Marial (2.4)

Could Cody come off the bench?

In a post game interview coach Boyle mentioned this as a possibility. Honestly, I agree. The line up right now has being playing great because of a combination of cohesiveness and experience. To have a player of his caliber coming off the bench against other teams bench players could be an advantage. Also the fact that he might be a one and done player, this may not effect team chemistry that much. Not saying this should be permanent if they make a run in the Pac 12 tournament but could be on the table. Thoughts?

TruTV getting more sports centric makeover

Heading into the 2024 NCAA Tournament, Warner Bros. Discovery is giving TruTV a sports-centric facelift.

Per Variety, TruTV is getting a hefty dose of simulcasts and alternate broadcasts of live games airing on TBS and TNT and will also be chock full of alternate broadcasts. The shift in strategy is supposed to go live on Monday, March 11.

Additionally, several sports-centric originals will air on TruTV, including the TNT Sports Update, a weekly House of Highlights show, the betting-centric The Line, and the NBA social media-forward Handles.

Ohio State - Iowa WBB game TV rating

3.388 million watched the game. Great for WBB! For the season, Ohio State-Iowa ranks second among all college basketball games (men and women) behind only an NFL-fueled Michigan State-Arizona game on Thanksgiving (5.2M).

It also means that 3.388 million believe there is a single NCAA record combining men and women's scoring. I did not watch, but my guess is it was present that way in the broadcast. There is not a combined official record and a pet peeve is that MBB/WBB seems to be the only sport with both genders play that there is a push by people to combined all the numbers even though they are two different games in depth in the sport as far as teams, some rules (ball is smaller and they play qrts) and one game includes one game playing above the rim and others not.
