Another key transfer pickup for the CU. The Buffs already have fellow USF transfer receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. on campus.

Oklahoma and West Virginia are two other programs that had been in pursuit of the 6-foot-1 junior from Orlando.

Aaron Butler's top 5

Colorado receiver target Aaron Butler, a former USC commit, has pushed forward with the next cut to his list. Last night, he announced his new top 5 and Colorado remains in the mix. The Buffs are joined by Georgia, Washington, Oregon and Alabama. He's going to take some visits this spring and a decision is not expected to be far off. The Buffs have become a key player with him because of his dad's connection to Deion Sanders. The played together with the Baltimore Ravens, and that is one of the things that has the 2024 recruit intrigued. Butler plays on both sides of the ball but is most likely to end up on offense in college.

Butler has built an impressive offer list over the last couple years with programs such as Tennessee, Michigan, LSU, UCLA, Penn State, Texas A&M, TCU, Notre Dame and Louisville being ones that have missed out on being included in his top group.

Georgia is being viewed as the favorite right now, and an official visit with the Bulldogs is expected to take place this spring.

Why Colorado is playing at a faster pace than it ever has under Tad Boyle

If it seems like Colorado is playing a more up-tempo style than it has in previous years under Tad Boyle, it's because it is. I talked to Boyle about it last week and got some insight into why the decision was made. Also dive into the numbers a bit

Spring Game Ticket Sales

If you plan to go to the spring game, you should get your tickets ASAP. It was my understanding that only the lower bowl seating was going to be available, and I just saw on the local news, that they have already sold 27,000 tickets. Only general admission tickets are being sold, so get there early for good seating too. (Looks like they will be able to cover an assistant coach's salary with the gate receipts @dtownbuff. You were predicting 10-12K max.) Will be, by far, the biggest spring game crowd ever, for the Buffs.

Tickets sold for 2023 Colorado spring game surpass attendance of past seven years

To say there is excitement surrounding Colorado football would be an understatement. Deion Sanders has been hired to turn around what has been one of the Power Five’s worst programs. National media, recruits, and Buff fans are buzzing over the move.

Sanders will make his unofficial debut as Colorado’s head coach in just over two months, with the spring game scheduled for April 22. While the Black & Gold game has not been a staple in Boulder over the past few years, Coach Prime has changed things. Folsom Field is expected to be packed, with more tickets being sold this year and the previous attendance of the last seven years.

“For the first time, Colorado is selling tickets to its spring game, which is 2 months from tomorrow,” Brian Howell of Buffzone said. “So far, the #cubuffs have sold 30,013 tickets. For perspective, CU counted a total of 30,450 fans who showed up (for free) to the last 7 spring games combined. Last year: 1,950.”

Fans will be looking at a completely different roster at the spring game. Twenty new recruits will be entering the program, including five-star cornerback Cormani McClain. However, he is not even the most high-profile player joining the program, with Travis Hunter leading a group of 27 transfers.

Sanders will grab all of the headlines and rightfully so. He is the one orchestrating the rebuild for Colorado. However, an improved product on the field will bring the most excitement, especially after a 1-11 record a season ago. The spring game will be the first glance.

Has Coach Prime Saved The PAC-12? SMU and SDSU?

Great podcast by a Colorado Buffalo fan. He lays out expansion nicely but make a point that I've not heard yet and that is the attractiveness of the City of Dallas. Not sure if he's a Texas native but spent a lot of time in that state. It seems to me that schools have their advantages, i.e., SC is located in a huge talent rich recruiting area, Utah has access to Samoan recruits rivaled only by BYU, and Oregon has Nike. The podcaster makes the point that there is so much money in Dallas that SMU is going to kill it in the NIL market. Good listen and he's a Buffalo!
