Shedeur Sanders is relishing the role he's stepping into at Colorado

The media got a chance to speak with Shedeur Sanders yesterday and I've gotta say, it's hard not to like or be impressed with him. He's got a lot of his father's charisma and charm

As for what he might do on the field? We delve into that a little bit here, particularly the process of learning Sean Lewis' offense

Transfer Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig could help revamp the Colorado secondary

Admittedly, I'm partial to anyone with 'Craig' in their name, but I really think the Jackson State transfer safety is going to end up as one of CU's most impactful additions this season

Catching up with 2024 OL Gage Ginther

Gage Ginther is starting to blow up heading into the spring with some big offers now on the table. The rest of the Pac-12 is starting to take notice and that has led to new offers from schools such as USC, UCLA and Washington State while Oregon has also expressed plenty of interest. Tennessee is another school well involved with the Fossil Ridge HS standout offensive lineman. He expects to be pretty busy this spring taking visits and seeing several schools, but Colorado left a strong impression on him during his late-January visit to Boulder. He was able to compare the two coaching staffs (past and present) at CU, and he feels confident about the direction of the program.

I caught up with him to talk about the visit and gauge his interest in the Buffs, and you can read the entire update at the link above. Here's one of his quotes about the trip.

“I loved it. Growing up in Colorado and seeing the old staff and visiting with the old staff and comparing it to Deion and his staff, it’s a huge difference. Just from the recruits that were there, there were five-stars there, and film crews walking around. So, I can just feel the difference in the atmosphere. Then, just the coaching staff that’s there. When they were introducing them, they have some crazy accolades coming from places like Alabama and Georgia with national championship rings. I could just see the difference, and I really liked it.”

Latest transfer addition: Kent State OL Jack Bailey

A couple days after deciding to enter the transfer portal, Kent State offensive lineman Jack Bailey has announced his commitment to Colorado where he will link up with Sean Lewis once again. Bailey has been a multi-year starter at guard for Kent State and was able to make the move now because he is a graduate transfer. He also still has two years of eligibility left to play for the Buffs. A big win for CU as it adds to its offseason transfer haul.

Interesting Comments on DNVR Podcast

Uncle Neely of Thee PreGame Show was in the comments of todays DNVR Buffs Podcast today. Good Pod to listen too.

The one that stood out the most when discussing the upcoming transfer portal was “trust and believe this team will be 35 to 50 players different by August”.

Probably going to be huge attrition after the Spring.

Where Colorado appears in way-too-early top 25s for 2023-24

A few national outlets have the Buffs among the top 25 teams heading into next season. Take these rankings with a huge grain of salt considering NBA Draft and transfer decisions still to be made, but still, they're worth at least some consideration

Tim Brewster is aiming to teach Colorado's tight ends how to work

Tim Brewster spoke today after CU's spring practice. The man's a human can of Red Bull. He had some interesting thoughts on CU's tight ends, especially Seydou Traore, and the general impressions of the team thus far

Nick Williams for looking CU's defensive line to meet the new 'standard'

“We brought a new philosophy and a new way of doing things and they've bought in so far.”

Nick Williams discusses the progress of the Buffs’ front:

WBB News: Buffs lose an assistant

I hope losing him does not cause the gaping hole it did when we lost Jeff Cammon. Cammon was an early star for Payne and really helped get the program started when he got here and we had so much early success. Program kind of cratered after Cammon left as he was the staff recruiter and offensive coach. Recruiting took a dive and the offense didn't look right until the last few years. This year was one of the best coached years since year 1. Tough to lose another assistant to another head coaching job but that's progress. I hope we can fill it in with another coach as instrumental as the one we lost or the caliber of coach Cammon (who is rising up the ranks). Really need this program to continue to grow after such a pivotal season and recruiting our best class in over a decade.
