I made the trip out to Arbor View HS in Las Vegas to check in with four-star linebacker Christian Thatcher to get his thoughts on the official visit he took to Colorado over the weekend. The Buffs really made a strong impression and he told me afterwards that the other schools have a lot to live up to after his experience in Boulder. His dad's side of the family is from Colorado Springs and his grandpa in particular is someone who is important in his life who lives in Colorado and would be at all the games. That holds a lot of weight and could end up being a big part of the process.
Originally, he wasn't going to get an opportunity to meet with Deion Sanders during the visit but by surprise the CU head coach was on campus allowing Thatcher an opportunity to spend a few minutes talking with him. Washington has been the favorite up to this point, but CU seems to have made a really strong connection here and he indicated as much both on and off camera.
A decision date is not completely finalized yet but tentatively, Thatcher plans to decide on July 4.
