As far as P5 is concerned, and this would be applicable to G5, too, before all is said and done, all of the numbers you see below will inevitably rise to some extent. There's still time before the February signing period as well as for a given player to join a program before the 2022 season in general, but still, the tweets below do illustrate that "the grass isn't always greener," as is often said of the portal/that whole process.
There's just no way around the fact that there's going to be a hell of a lot of kids who simply do not find new homes. Far too few scholarships to go around for the kind of movement that the new transfer rules have brought about. I'll be interested to see the final numbers.
