IMO the MSU deal was more of a perfect storm than something that happens to schools like CU all of the time.
The easy fix that does not require giving the job to someone that is not ready just because he is a Buff. The fix is in having a large buyout. That would leave only the Big 10, SEC and a few others with the means to do it. If they look at CU's coach it would mean that the HC is doing a very good job and CU is turned around, so all the schools are looking at the CU coach over all the HCs and Coordinators in college football. It would be great to have the program thought of like that again. It also means CU would be a destination that good coaches would want to work at. If we hire based on who will not leave, we might as well just let the fans know up front we only want to survive and not challenge for anything meaningful.
