Jaylon Tyson, a former four-star recruit who signed with Texas’ 2021 class, only to hit the portal recently, is in Boulder on an OV.
You may recognize the last name — he’s the older brother of football signee Jordyn Tyson.
Don’t wanna speculate on his decision to transfer, but it very well could be playing time-related. Barely saw the court in Austin during his brief tenure there.
Should be noted that he was originally a Texas Tech commit. Personally, I am always wary of guys who have made numerous program changes in short amounts of time, but I will say, I think Tad Boyle is the kind of coach who can shoot it straight to a kid like him and articulate the benefit of coming to Colorado and getting developed, in part through robust competition.
6-foot-7, 210-pound forward. Interesting development on the hoops recruiting front, for sure.

The former Texas Tech signee followed Chris Beard to Austin, but didn’t even last until the start of conference play.
