The dual-threat quarterback prospect from Independence (Mo.) Ft. Osage received an offer from Colorado last Saturday. “I was excited. I am excited to receive any offer from a Division-1 program, it is a pretty special thing but Colorado, I think they are doing things right out there, turning that program around. They are sinking a bunch of money into their facilities, getting it to be up-scale. They play in the Pac-12 South, which is the toughest conference, so they are going to play the best of the best every year. I feel like they are headed in the right direction. They have a great coaching staff and they have done a great job of getting in touch and communicating with me. I was very pleased to get an offer from them. It is a great power five conference program.” Thompson also has offers from Illinois State, Kansas, Kansas State, North Dakota State, Ohio, UNLV and Wake Forest, and he threw for Missouri's coaches today. He said he hopes to line up a visit to Colorado but also reading between the lines, I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up committing to Kansas State in the coming days. He is visiting the Wildcats for the third time this weekend. Thompson accounted for more than 2,800 yards and 33 touchdowns as a junior and is currently ranked as the nation's 17th best dual-threat quarterback prospect.
