The Class of 2017 defensive standout from Englewood (Colo.) Cherry Creek was pretty excited to receive his first offer, and he was pretty excited it came from CU. "I have always had a good impression of the Buffs' program because I was pretty much raised to like CU," he said. "The fact they were my first offer is pretty cool. I have loved the campus for a long time and the area. I am excited about what the program has to offer." Van Diest said he has a real close relationship with teammate Santino Marchiol, who has seen his stock blow up recently, but they won't necessarily be a package deal. Van Diest will either be a defensive end or outside linebacker in college depending on how much he grows. Right now he is about 6-foot-1.5, 230-pounds.
