Colorado Dominates Home Opener with Fast Offense
BOULDER— Just like last week the Colorado Buffaloes came out fast against the Idaho State Bengals and it paid off in front of a solid Folsom Field crowd (39,505). They scored on every drive but one in the first half.

Devin Ross got the crowd fried up with his 15-yard touchdown reception from Sefo Liufau. That gave Ross two touchdowns after five quarters of play this season, last season Ross only had two touchdowns total. He is definitely showing he is a force to be reckoned with in that slot position and shouldn't be underestimated.

The Buffs continued to use their high tempo pace and they were very successful with that tempo. In the first half all of their drives were under five minutes, with the longest being 3:10.

Lindsay was able to punch in two touchdowns for 6-yards and 2-yards making that four touchdowns so far on the season. He finished the game with seven carries for 30 yards.

The Buffs continued their momentum throughout the rest of the first half and gave two newly placed scholarship guys chances to get into the end zone.

Kyle Evan founds the end zone again this week after a two yard run and tight end Chris Hill had his first ever touchdown catch. He only had one catch previous to that against Nicholls State last seaosn. The Buffs were rolling 35-0 after those two touchdowns.

And they didn't stop. Sefo Liufau wanted in on some of the action and took one 19-yards himself into the end zone.

Not only was the running back play good by Colorado but the wide receivers once again showed up today.

Shay Fields had two catches for 78 yards. Liufau went deep to Fields three times down the sideline and Fields drew three pass interference calls every time.

Jay MacIntyre also came out big for the Buffs, having a career high six catches for 76 yards in the first half.

Also making a statement was junior college transfer Kabion Ento, Ento went for 69 yards and a touchdown on his first ever career reception with the Buffs. Steven Montez got in the game with under two minutes remaining in the second half. He threw his first ever career pass for the Buffs to Ento for the score.

The Buffs ended the first half with 410 total yards (273 passing, 137 rushing), 21 first downs and seven touchdowns. Idaho State only had 48 first half yards (32 passing, 16 rushing) and three first downs.

It was nice to see Coach Mike MacIntyre put the reserves in to start the second half. They didn't move the ball quite as well as the starters but they were still able to find the end zone a couple of times.

Ento found the end zone yet again in the third quarter for a 19-yard touchdown reception, Montez with his second career touchdown pass and Ento with his second career touchdown reception. The two have found their chemistry together.

The Buffs finished the game with 597 total yards (335 passing, 262 rushing).

Key Quotes from Press Conference:
Coach MacIntyre:

"Our coaching staff did an excellent job of getting the guys ready, we came out fast and kept playing. I was very very impressed with what our staff did with our guys, how focused they were. Our upper class man did a great job of staying focused in practice and keep working, that's what we talk about all the time. Worry about Colorado, nothing else."

"It was good to get some guys in especially on special teams and different things that we did to see some other guys go, I thought they did well. We'll look at the film, come back Monday ready to work and find a way to get better."

"All it says is we've gone 2-0, those games are history now, we got to get ready for the next one, which will get ready for starting tomorrow, let our guys enjoy this tonight and relax a little bit and then I'll go get some Sweet Cow ice cream tonight and then I'll start working tomorrow morning."

"We're coming out of the block so fast which is what we wanted to do, what I'm liking about it is where really not lulling."

"I thought he did well, you saw his strong arm on the curl route that Kabion made those guys miss, you saw him make a couple nice runs which he can run, saw him improvise one time, had them come at him, he was able to dump it over. He has those intangibles and it was good to see him out there doing that," On Montez.

"That's why we were able to hit some runs inside and do some things there. I thought our offensive tackles did a great job of pass protecting, with those wide ends and they were trying to come underneath, I thought they did an excellent job, I thought our first unit and our second unit tackles did an excellent job of protecting."

"I thought Jay did well, he's doing an excellent job of fielding punts for us and making positive yardage and making smart decisions, so I was definitely proud of the way he played, I thought he did a great job."

"They're hungry still, they're really hungry, they're basically starving, in the PAC 12 we haven't done very well as far as winning the games that we've had chances to win so thats something that they definitely want to do and that will keep them hungry and be prepared to do that so I'm looking forward to watching them do that."

"Our guys have to block well on the perimeter they don't have to be crushing blocks, they have to stay in the way of the guy and allow our guy to run. The great thing that we are doing, is we are getting in the right position on the guys, we are staying in the way and then are quarterbacks are getting the ball where the guys can turn up quicker."

Sefo Liufau:
"We can say Michigan, they're the next opponent up, we'll enjoy this game tonight but we'll be ready and prepared for them come next week."

"In any week really its easy to lose focus, sometimes the weeks leading up in preparation can be very long so I'm pretty pleased with our focus and our ability to execute today I think for the most part we did very well."

"I just think that we're executing more at a higher level, I think that we just hold ourselves to a higher standard, I'll continue to say it for the rest of the season, it's players holding each other accountable, I think that Beau will be upset with himself for his fumble today. That's one of our mottos, one snap and clear but even late in that game we don't want to have any turnovers or any negative plays, you want to have no drop off when new guys come in and play."

"I think it shows a lot, it shows a real big maturity factor in my opinion with the ability to go out there when your suppose to handle business, you go out there and you handle business, Idaho State's a good team, we knew they had some weakness in certain spots, especially on the defense, so we tried to attack that, I think for the most part we did that today."

"Basically the coverages that they were giving us, we thought we had an advantage on the outside with our receivers so when you have that you want to take a bunch of shots down field and we were completing them for the most part, I know I missed a couple pass which is frustrating but for the most part Shay had some big catches, Devin had a nice touchdown catch. When you have mismatches, whether it be on the outside or if its a different game and its running the ball you want to take advantage of that as much as possible."

"I think it shows the potential that we have, as an offense and a team as a whole. I think that we've shown ourselves that we can go and be consistent and be able to put drives together, after we watch the film on this game you got to put it in the past though and you got to focus on the next opponent."

"You don't want to be in close games and to be able to go into these first two games, I think dominate for the most part in all phases is very good for the team, there's definitely room for improvement though."

Jay MacIntyre:
"Today my number was called more than last game and Sefo found me on a couple of option routes there but me and Sefo have been working, since I got here I'm always there when he throws and you know were finally kind of clicking but he threw some great balls to me and I happened to make some plays."

"It was all Idaho State for us, at the end of the day it's just us and then everyone else on our schedule if we don't play well then were not going to win, that's the mindset we've had, Coach Mac has been telling us that everyday and all the other coaches and for us we just wanted to get out there and show what we can do, it doesn't matter who we play."

"It's awesome for everybody in the locker room, Galloway got in today, a couple other guys that have always dreamed about going in the game, playing here, you know they've always done great jobs playing in practice, it was awesome to see them out there."

Kabion Ento:
"It's all I dreamed about playing junior college, I can just say lucky and blessed."

"Montez is a great quarterback, we get a lot of reps at practice, he could have thrown it to anybody but when I got the ball just trying to be a play maker, luckily I bounced off a tackle and took it to the house."

Tony Julmisse:
"It's definitely fun, just being able to play on the field as a true freshman, any true freshmen would love the opportunity so I'm just gonna do my best at the moment, try and help the team win as best as I can."

"It was different, to actually be a player in the game, running behind Ralphie and all that, it's different than when you're recruited and you see it on videos and your own your official visit and you just view it but to actually be that player running out its exciting."

"Just listening to the coach, the defense, what he tells us to do, it all falls in line just do your job and everyone else will do their job and it all works out.

"It's definitely fun, it's like a big family, I have Chido, I have a whole bunch of guys that just help me on the field with the calls and tell me my leverage, they are just always helping me out."
