I refuse to believe we are that much worse than TCU. TCU doesnt have better athletes overall and they did not look faster or stronger. OUr OL play while still not great at least looked much improved and more stout than last year. HCKD has lost what little credibility he had yesterday when the starting QB played very much like last year despite HCKD's assertions that he is much improved - he is not. Maybe he would benefit from watching Shrout play. Time to move on and give the reins to Shrout with no threat of replacement for at least the next 2 games.

I think its great we will be on the road and underdogs over the next two weeks against 2 beatable opponents. If Shrout can stretch the field a little with some throws, which BLEW cannot, it will help the OL and the running game. With BLEW the opposing defense is totally keyed on stopping the run and pinning their ears back on the pass rush. Our defense has to have a chance to believe they do not need to pitch a shutout every game. If Shrout can move the ball, burn some clock and score just a bit the D may actually get inspired.

Its possible with 1 win in the next 2 weeks we can keep the fans interested. Go 0-2 and Folsom will be regrettably empty come game 4. HCKD only chance is to sit BLEW and give Shrout a chance to redeem the season. Thats a ton of pressure on Shrout but he seems to have the personality for it and he'll get a chance away from the pressure of Folsom and with nobody expecting the Buffs to win. Even a guy a doggedly stubborn as HCKD has to see it is his ONLY CHANCE to save a season on the brink after game 1.
