As smart as he is, that's kind of a dumb decision. He came here to play for "Tucker"? Dude, come here to play for Colorado. That's who you would be playing for. The NFL or your post graduate school doesn't care that you played for Tucker. You would be playing for Colorado and your defensive coordinator did not change. You would still have a role here. Now you have to start the whole process over without a spring practice to catapult yourself into the lineup. How's that going to work for you? Stay here, go through spring practice, earn a spot on the depth chart. If that doesn't work out, then enter the portal after spring. How is waiting another 6 weeks going to hurt? Especially odd when you said you actually liked it here and everyone involved. I'm just baffled. The only answer I can come up with is that Tucker made him a promise that the new staff cannot necessarily keep.
