I'm told Tad Boyle and staff have been given permission to contact University of Colorado at Colorado Springs star guard Derrick White, and he is expected to visit CU. Apparently there was a team meeting at UCCS last night regarding White's decision to transfer.
White is a product of Legend High School in Parker, Colo, He became a star at UCCS, averaging nearly 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists this season. He also shot 33.6 percent from three-point range.
White is the single-season and all-time leading scorer in UCCS history, as well as the first All-American in school history.
If White does transfer to CU, he would have one year of eligibility remaining. It is unclear at this point if he would be eligible to play right away or if he would have to sit out a year.
