ESPN ranked the coaches from most likely to least likely to still be at their job in 2016. It's an Insider article so for those of you without access:
1. Gary Andersen
2. Mark Helfrich
3. Rich Rod
4. Todd Graham
5. Sark
6. Jim Mora
7. Mike Leach
8. Chris Petersen
9. MM
10. Sonny Dykes
11. Kyle Whittingham
12. David Shaw
On MM:
MacIntyre has an identical record to Dykes. Like Dykes, he’s not in any discernible danger, either. Colorado recently opened an elaborate $156 million facility, a strong signal of intent by the Buffaloes. It isn’t going to make a move on its coach and upset that sense of stability.
MacIntyre went so far as to project the 2015 team will make a bowl, even in its difficult division. That’s bold for a coach coming off a 2-10 season, but he sensed progress in ‘14.
“We had opportunities to win games that were over at halftime the previous year,” MacIntyre said, adding that he believes Sefo Liufau will “be one of the best junior quarterbacks in America” by December.
If Colorado wins its four nonconference games (Hawaii, UMass, Colorado State, Nicholls State), it would need to take out Washington State and Oregon State to reach a bowl. That doesn’t seem unreasonable for an increasingly experienced team that has shown improvement.
