Phil Lindsay's leverage in contract negotiations were just tossed to the birds. This sucks for Phil. Broncos are hedging here. I assume they get rid of Freeman either by cut or hopeful trade. Phil is not going to get the big contract money (see Ekeler) that he is hoping for though. Gordon will cut into his carries and weaken his value on the overall market. Gordon is a volume ball carrier as he has the strong body to take a ton of punishment yet explosive enough to make the big play. He is not great in the pass game though so this is a chance for Phil to work on his receiving skills this off season to add much value to his game. Phil needs to catch 40-50 balls next season to extend his value and make him an attractive feature back to the open market. Want to see him succeed!
