I'm leaving for Tanzania in the morning to trek up Kilimanjaro, 19,341'. This has been my dream, since I had a port visit in Mombasa Kenya Christmas 1973 (CU '72), and saw Kili while on a camera safari. Grad school, career, marriage & kids kept putting it off. I've been training hard for 8 months and am taking Lemosho, a scenic 9 day route, which improves acclimatization and the odds of summiting. This is going to be more challenging than the 14ers that I did in Colorado, not to mention my age, which I refuse to acknowledge. Keep pushing is my motto. Gotta do it before the glaciers melt. I'll let you know the outcome in two weeks.
Go Buffs!!!
