CU vs. Gardner-Webb: In their lone meeting, CU won 97-88 on December 28, 2004 in Boulder.

QUICKLY: Colorado (15-17) enters another chapter of the season making its first appearance in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) playing Gardner-Webb for only the second time • The Buffs will be without Askia Booker (personal decision not to play) and Dustin Thomas (transferring) for the CBI • CU will play its 33rd game of the season, tying for fourth all-time in school history for games played in a season.

CU vs. Gardner-Webb: In their lone meeting head-to-head, CU won 97-88 on December 28, 2004 in Boulder. CU shot 57.1 percent from the field and placed five players in double figures. Marcus Hall scored 22 points and Chris Copeland (Indiana Pacers) added 17 points with three blocks. Gardner-Webb also shot the ball well, making 52.9 percent from the field and making 11 treys.

A WIN WEDNESDAY MEANS: Improving to 16-17 on the season and the 15th post-season win for Coach Boyle in 23 games (.652), both CU records for wins and winning percentage • 12th win at home • Sixth straight season the Buffs have won at least 12 home games in a season • CU improves to 72-14 at home (.837) over the last five years • CU improves to 2-0 all-time against Gardner-Webb.

SHOT CLOCK: The College Basketball Invitational, now in its eighth year, will utilize a 30-second shot clock in an effort to assist the NCAA in its research on pace of play and scoring. Normally, it's 35 seconds.

MISSING FROM LINEUP: Leading scorer senior guard Askia Booker averaged a team-best 17.2 points per game and 30.2 minutes has decided not to play in the CBI. He also lead the Buffs in field goals (173), 3-pointers (55), free throws made (131) and attempts (157), assists (99) and steals (44). CU will be without sophomore forward Dustin Thomas (4.4 ppg., 2.5 rpg), who has decided to transfer.

Pac-12 TOURNEY REVIEW: CU is coming off a 93-85 quarterfinal loss to Oregon at the Pac-12 Tournament at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, last Thursday. The Buffaloes finished tied for eighth in the Pac-12 Conference with a 7-11 record and were seeded No. 10 due to tie-breakers. CU upset No. 7 Oregon State in the first round, 78-71 last Wednesday.

BUFF TRENDS: CU is 3-2 over its last five games and shooting 50.2 percent from the field, also an 81 points per game average • Josh Scott leads in scoring 19.8 ppg, 9.4 rpg, with eight blocks and seven steals • After a span of shooting 38.5 FG% or worse in seven straight games (Jan. 31-Feb. 26), CU has shot above 44.6 percent in its last five games, three of last five games over 50 percent • CU has shot over 50 percent nine times this season (8-1, lone loss at WSU, ot).

SCOUTING Gardner-Webb: The Runnin' Bulldogs are 20-14 and finished 10-8 in the Big South Conference, falling in the conference semifinals. GWU enjoys shooting the 3-pointer (8.1 a game) ranking No. 29 nationally and are No. 8 in the country in total assists (551) and No. 10 in assists per game (16.2). Tyrell Nelson is No. 8 in FG% (.597), while Tyler Strange (All-Big South First Team) is No. 4 with 7.4 dimes.
