THE GAME: The University of Colorado heads to the Oregon schools this week beginning with a battle at Pac-12 Conference leader University of Oregon on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. MST at Matthew Knight Arena.

OPENING TIP: Colorado has started 6-3 or better in conference play for just the third time in the last 43 seasons.

ABOUT THE DUCKS: Oregon is 18-4 overall and leads the Pac-12 with a record of 7-2. The Ducks, ranked No. 16 by the Associated Press and No. 17 by theUSA Today Coaches’ poll, have won four straight and seven of their last eight. The lone loss in that span came at Colorado, 91-87, on Jan. 17. Oregon averages 78.3 points per game while shooting 47 percent from the field. Oregon sports one of the best defenses in the Pac-12 this season. The Ducks lead the Pac-12 in turnover margin (+2.5) while ranking second in blocked shots (6.0 bpg) and steals (7.8 spg). Oregon holds the third-best scoring defense in the Pac-12 at 68.0 points per game and ranks fourth in field goal defense at 41.3 percent.

Sophomore Dillon Brooks leads Oregon at 16.6 points per game while ranking second in both rebounds (6.2 rpg) and assists (3.0 apg). Freshman guard Tyler Dorsey averages 13.5 points and leads the Ducks in both 3-pointers made (37) and 3-point percentage (.435), the latter ranking seventh in the Pac-12. Senior forward Elgin Cook averages 13.5 points and tops Oregon with 32 steals. Senior forward Chris Boucher is the nation’s top shot-blocker (3.7 bpg) and leads Oregon in rebounding (7.8 rpg) while scoring 12.8 points an outing. Sophomore guard Casey Benson leads the Pac-12 in assist-to-turnover ratio sporting an impressive 72 assists against only 13 turnovers.

Dana Altman is in his sixth year as the head coach of Oregon with a record of 141-61. Altman is in his 31st season as a collegiate head coach with a record of 674-328.

THE SERIES: This will be the 15th meeting between Colorado and Oregon with the Buffaloes holding a 9-5 series edge. Colorado has won 6-of-9 since joining the Pac-12 for the 2011-12 season. Oregon has won 4-of-6 all-time meetings in Eugene, including a 73-60 decision on Feb. 18, 2015.

Tad Boyle is 6-4 against Oregon as a head coach, 6-3 while at Colorado. Dana Altman is 8-9 against Colorado as a head coach. He is 3-6 win Oregon and was 5-3 while at Kansas State from 1990-94.
