OPENING TIP: Colorado will be trying for its 400th win at the Coors Events Center. The Buffaloes have won 71 percent of their games (399-166) at the facility since it opened for the 1979-80 season.

ABOUT THE BUFFALOES: Colorado is 19-9 overall and in tied with Washington for sixth place in the Pac-12 at 8-7, just one game out of fourth. The Buffaloes were swept on the road for the second time in three weeks, falling 79-72 at USC on Feb. 17 and 77-53 at UCLA on Feb. 20. Colorado will look to take advantage of some home cooking, entering Wednesday’s game with a 14-1 home mark. A win would ensure the Buffaloes at least a .500 record in conference play and clinch the program’s ninth 20-win season and fifth in six years. Colorado reached its overall win total of 16 in 2014-15 (16-18) in 13 fewer games (16-5).

The Buffaloes continue to hold a strong NCAA RPI coming it at 34 as of Feb. 23. The Pac-12, having a phenomenal season as a whole, has seven teams currently ranked in the top 40 and 11 in the top 81. Colorado is 7-9 against NCAA RPI top 100 teams and 3-7 against the top 50.

ABOUT THE WILDCATS: Arizona is 22-5 overall and tied with Oregon for first place in the Pac-12 at 10-4. The Wildcats have won six straight and have climbed to No. 9 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and No. 10 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Arizona averages 82.0 points on 49 percent shooting. The Wildcats lead the Pac-12 in scoring margin (+14.0) and rebound margin (+11.4) while ranking second in field goal percentage, scoring defense (68.0 ppg) and free throw percentage (.725).

Senior forward Ryan Anderson leads Arizona at 15.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game while shooting 57 percent from the field. Freshman guard Allonzo Trier is second on the team in scoring at 14.8 points per contest. Senior guard Gabe York tops the Wildcats in 3-pointers made with 74 while pitching in 14.7 points an outing. Sean Miller is in his seventh year at Arizona with a record of 185-57. He is in his 12th year overall as a collegiate head coach with a record of 305-104.

THE SERIES: This will be the 25th meeting between Colorado and Arizona with the Wildcats holding a 13-11 series edge. Arizona has won the last six and 8-of-11 since the Buffaloes joined the Pac-12 in 2011-12. Colorado has a 7-4 edge in Boulder which was the site of the Buffaloes’ last win in the series, a 71-58 decision on Feb. 14, 2013.
