Sac State is leaving the Big Sky for the Big West in all sports but football. Football will be a D1AA indy. The football team wanted to go D1A in 2026, but were not given a waiver to do so by the NCAA.
But Southern Utah and Utah Tech are joining the Big Sky in 2026. Both for football were in the United Athletic Conference (football schools from the A-Sun and WAC made the football only D1AA conference). They were in the WAC for all other sports.
