Colorado target DE Jared Ivey, whom Brian Michalowski visited in-home recently (Dec. 2) and whom had Colorado in his top 5 effective mid-Sept, recently committed to Georgia Tech.
No disrespect to Jared whatsoever, but I did get the sense that CU was hoping to keep him on the line in the event things soured with Jason Harris (the two actually have pretty similar frames).
Clearly, Colorado is doing its due diligence in regards to keeping the foot on the gas in courting Harris, but objectively speaking, Ivey's decision does in a sense up the stakes for CU to land Harris. I know Jimmy Brumbaugh and Michalowski are chomping at the bit to get a big-bodied hybrid DE/OLB into the mix here as a final piece to the Class of 2020 puzzle.
