Mountain View (Calif.) St. Francis cornerback Maurice Wilmer will be officially visiting Colorado this weekend, CUSportsNation.com reports.
Wilmer is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect, who holds offers from the likes of Air Force, Army, San Jose State, and UNLV, received an offer from Colorado on June 28. The Buffs' staff also sent Wilmer an official offer letter in early August.
I have to admit, with the handful of commits CU already has at defensive back, I'm surprised they're still pursuing him, especially with Isaiah Rutherford also still out there.
What I'm hearing from my sources on Wilmer is that head coach Mike MacIntyre personally is very high on Wilmer. He is fired up about Wilmer.
Would Colorado take a commitment from Wilmer if he tries to commit this weekend? That I do not know. It's a good problem to have, but I'm sure the staff has a plan in place for defensive back recruiting. They may have another spot open up if Kamryn Farrar decommits, and as of right now, that is still up in the air, but I should hear more on that soon.
On Friday afternoon, I will have more information on official visitors this weekend. The Buffs will have five total official visitors for the New Hampshire game. I'd report them all now but it's a delicate process and I like to respect those who make more money than I do.
