Commented recently regarding Shedeur's draft process. Was not a positive report. I don't do links well but the piece is out there and should be easy to find. I hope all of the blowback regarding SS and the retired # and the draft doesn't sour Deion on the CU community. I'd like to see him stay and build something at CU.

Like I posted in another thread, CU had more draftees than any other team in the big 12. The retired number was embarrassing but not something we can’t all get over.

It’s going to take the season getting going to stop the focus on SS. Until then it’s going to be a long summer of conspiracy theories like the one that hack Bayless floated - Tom Brady is responsible froe the slide.

I think people got too caught up in the flash and sizzle of Deion the last couple years and saw something that wasn’t there. NFL execs are not swayed by the ridiculousness of the show. They just look at the actual product and make decisions from there.

In their eyes they see what many saw all along which today doesn’t translate to a starter or high draft pick. I think everyone that feels slighted or thought they were watching something else the last two years has to just be patient and see if SS with some coaching and no dad around can grow into an NFL QB. He has as good a chance as anyone.

I do really hope we have something to talk about this summer besides this though. It’s like the gift that keeps on giving

Personally so many of the local guys covering the team won’t say anything against Coach Prime for the risk of losing the limited access that the program gives them. I can’t even stomach the DNVR guys anymore. Most of these guys just have blind faith in CP. Very few coving the team will voice a honest take.

DNVR-Buffs is a complete joke - those guys are nothing but a PR arm for the Sanders family. It's embarrassing.

In contrast, the DNVR guys who cover the Avalanche are much more objective. They're fans, but they go after players and coaches pretty hard when it's deserved.

Disagree. Pat Shurmur was the solution. Shedeur and Deion simply didn't want to run his offense. ANYBODY who's watched Shurmur's offenses over the last 30 years would tell you that what Shedeur was running was not a PS offense. Not even close.

Pat Shurmur knows what the NFL likes and requires in their QBs. Deion and Shedeur should have listened to him.

I think the problem runs deeper and think its a CP problem, we constantly heard how SS could change the plays etc.. I think there was no accountability, and PS couldn't rip his ass like he probably wanted to. I think the Offense and how it's run will look a lot different going forward.

There is some truth in this statement. But still, there was literally no creativity to PS offense. Just 10 personnel, 2x2 and 3x1 sets all game long.

SS wasn’t running any offense and it’s why most didn’t see him being an NFL starter without massive evolution. He just ran around and played pop warner playground ball.

I’ll never understand the fear fans have over upsetting or losing HCDS. We’ve had one winning seasons mostly over bad teams and our star player saved us last minute against NDSU and Baylor. Not to mention what he did on multiple other occasions to keep us in it.
We have no depth. Are again desperately scouring the portal while not recuritng deeply. The donors have given more but last year started backing off a little. Go 6-6 and they will be back where they were as Cu donors don’t support and HCDS knows without 10 wins he isn’t keeping the celebrity hanger ons who have no dog in the fight donating money.
