The Rivals Transfer Portal is super reliable when it comes to keeping a tab on the guys who opt to transfer. Saw this tweet recently and it really raised my eyebrows. I just can't fathom hitting the transfer portal without doing any research at all. That seems highly irresponsible, but, as the tweet suggests, looks like a lot of young men are basically going in blind.
I don't expect these kids to completely know the ins/out and every intricacy there is when it comes to the portal, but for such a big decision, you'd think some thought/research would be warranted.
That's also a reflection of the mentors/people around these kids that don't seem to be stepping in to caution them to hit the brakes. In the end, it's their prerogative now more than ever. It just sucks to see this reality. I never want to wish any student-athlete anything but the best, but it seems apparent that some decisions being made aren't being done in the most thought out manner.
