Offense

The whole offense was obviously just out of sync from beginning to end.
* Our QB cannot pass the football. I haven't seen a QB look that lost since James Cox started against CSU. Even Bernard Jackson looked more natural dropping back. It is sincerely frightening and just shows how horrendous QB recruiting has been over the last, well, forever. Just the basic QB skills aren't there. I thought Montez was raw. Damn! He can obviously run it but doesn't run it well enough to overcome his lack of understanding the passing game. Carter needed more than 3 minutes.

* To make matters worse, the OL can't block. This was obviously the 'B' team. We need Roddick, Wray, and Fillip in there in a hurry. No chance at ever stopping a pass rush and run blocking was poor to say the least. Damn, it's UNC, just mush people forward. No second level blocks either to spring guys. Broussard needs more help than that.

* Break a tackle please. Lots of big plays to be had if we break tackles. Shouldn't go down with the first attempted tackle.

Defense

* We haven't solved our LB issues and that just sucks. Nate was great as always, but we just lack too much athleticism at that spot. We are in trouble vs. A&M.
* The DL cannot get to the QB. Mustafa can't suit up fast enough. Ends couldn't bend the corner and they could not get to the QB like we should. Had to end up blitzing a lot to get any kind of pressure going.
* Too many missed tackles.

Special Teams

* Did we really hit the cross bar. Sigh.

Overall, too many penalties and just bonehead mistakes.

The good parts

* Clearly we went extremely vanilla. We weren't trying to do much of anything.
* The DBs are legit. Played very well for the most part. Just tough when the QB has all day to throw. Only negative was Blackmon shoving the receiver through Lewis on the TD pass. Yikes! Wrap up kid.
* Landman is an animal and looked even better.
* Broussard is still a beast and has help now.
* The return game was strong

Have lots to fix this week. Lots! Obviously we'll be up for a much better opponent though UNC was much better than I anticipated. McCaffrey was a stud. NFL quality QB. Better than anybody we've had and has his whole family coaching him. We'll be a lot better vs. A&M, but damn, some things aren't getting fixed in a season much less a week.
