Keanu Saleapaga, a three-star (5.6 RR) defensive end prospect from La Mirada (Calif.) High, de-committed from USC earlier this month and he will be taking an official visit to Colorado this weekend.

Former Buffs quarterback and current La Mirada head coach Mike Moschetti expects his decision to come down to Colorado and whichever college he visits during the Jan. 29 weekend. "That is what it is going to come down to," he said. "Everybody is trying to get that last trip... Ole Miss is meeting with him today, Arizona, Arizona State, Memphis, South Carolina, BYU, Oregon, Pittsburgh, everybody. He just doesn't know where he is going to take that last trip yet."

Moschetti won't push Saleapaga to Colorado, but he is certainly a good advocate for the Buffaloes. "Colorado is on him hard and really doing a great job. I would love to see him as a Buff," he said. "If they can get him, and it is looking pretty good, it'll be one of the highest rated guys they get in this class."

Moschetti said Saleapaga is a versatile player that could play defensive end, rush end, three-technique or even as an offensive lineman. "He has the intangibles that you can't coach," Moschetti said. "He is 6-foot-6, 265-pounds, and very athletic and quick. You can't coach that, and he is still somewhat raw. When he gets into a real weight training program year-round where he is eating right, Keanu could easily be a big time NFL guy down the road."

Darrin Chiaverini was by La Mirada earlier this week and the Buffs offered three of La Mirada's 2017 prospects: tight end Sire Woods, athlete Elijah Hicks and linebacker Chase Newman. Moschetti expects all three to be highly sought after prospects before all is said and done.
