I hope you’ll pardon my shameless plug, but I recently started doing some freelance writing for the DP and my first article went up today.
I wrote about Daylen Kountz, who, now in his senior season at UNC after transferring from Colorado back in the spring of 2020, has emerged as a major contender for Big Sky POY honors. He’s leading the entire conference in points per game and his shooting percentage is third-best across the league.
I drove up to Greeley last week to chat with Daylen and his coach, Steve Smiley, and by all indications, Kountz is fitting in very nicely up there.
I think he’s undoubtedly set himself up to continue his basketball career professionally after he graduates. At what level remains to be seen but I bet there already are eyes on him, if not from NBA scouts than from overseas leagues.
Hope you’ll take a read!
