This happens in MBB a lot. That is why a couple PAC 12 games ended up on CBS even though the PAC 12 and CBS have no TV contract. I do not think there is not much money in these games, in the past the Sun Belt's TV deal with ESPN for most games they had to sell the ads and only got what was left after the production cost.
