As we all know, we are in a new era of CFB and CU Football. We have arguably the best QB in CFB and THE Best player period. We have the best WR corps in CFB and a greatly improved DL (despite last week and a few hick ups.) We lose a core of top CFB players to graduation/Draft. We have a HC that is being talked about for every major HC job in CFB and the Pros, who is also recruiting at a level that we have not seen since the late 80s/early 90s. We have 8 wins with a chance to get 9+.

While I have been really happy with this year (despite the bumps and obvious needs for improvement), the current state of CFB and success and exposure of HC Prime could leave a lot of the Buffs' future in flux (like many programs.)

I spend a lot of time in the Seattle area for work, so I have a lot of UW alumni clients (as well as my daughter is a Freshman up there.) A few of my clients are big UW fans/donors and we talk CFB all the time and they know what a fanatic CU fan I am. A few clients said, almost word for word, " Enjoy the success and fun this year . . . CFB success and stability are fleeting, we know." My wife is a Michigan grad and Wolverine fanatic and it shows how quickly strong programs with great coaches can take a nose-dive when they lose players to the draft and/or when the HC leaves and important players hit the TP.

Here we are, ahead of schedule and watching some of the best players CU has ever had and more overall talent than we have had in 20 years. Prime has said he is happy and has his "kick-stand" down, but we know every coach says that every year just before leaving. If he does, it most likely means many of the top level recruits and players will hit the TP and the quality of talent will revert back to the past 20 years of less than P4 talent. Not that all of these things didn't happen before NIL, etc., but now it's on steroids so everything is year to year, more than ever.

All of this being said, as we head into Thanksgiving . . . what a fun/enjoyable year of CU FB and I am trying to enjoy the present and not worry about the future as much. I'm going to enjoy and root my ass off against OSU and whatever Bowl we make and hope Prime stays so we can keep the top level players and recruits and so we can keep improving and get to the next level. If he leaves, I'll still be rooting my ass off and be thankful for the fun I had as a Buff this year.

Go Buffs!!!!
