Notes from Mac's post-practice press conference
- Mac says the guy feel fresh and they are doing well managing school as well. The players start finals on Friday but not all of them are taking summer classes.
- There has been some separation at certain positions in terms of starters vs backups, but Mac also noted that a lot of the backups are really improving as well.
- Mac raved about Alex Kinney and the drop on his punt, which is why he's been so improved. Some of his "misses" were at 45 yards with hang time. A lot his punts are over 50 yards. He's even been working on catching bad snaps and getting back into the rhythm of his punt.
- With Isaac Miller, Mac said that he has been feeling well.
- Mac liked what he saw from the pass rush and the protection. As a head coach, Mac was pleased that it was an even battle.
- Mac said that DJ Eliot and Leavitt are both really intense guys and understand the scheme really well. They bring different expertise - Jim was more of an ILB guy, Eliot is an OLB guy - and have different personalities. Mac seems to really be impressed with Eliot.
