Bryant Williams is a 6-foot-8, 320-pound offensive tackle from Lake Charles, Louisiana, who's been committed to the Ragin' Cajuns since mid-June.
A few weeks after his verbal pledge to Louisiana, Mitch Rodrigue, who's recruiting connections in the state have been well-documented, issued him an offer.
The Buffs and Tulane offered him in the month of June following his commitment, providing Williams with something to think about here as he progresses towards his senior season.
Rodrigue seems to have honed in on him earlier in the summer before formally offering.
"We've been talking now for about a month," Williams said. "It all started prior to the offer. He got my film in late June and said he was really impressed with me and how I move for a guy who's 6-foot-8."
While he's been verbally committed to Louisiana for a month and some change at this point, the way he put it, the opportunity he now has with Colorado in particular has interested him.
"I've been impressed with what they're doing over there," he said. "It seems like a place you'd want to be at right now."
Offensive tackle remains a Class of 2022 position of need for Colorado, even with Hattiesburg, Mississippi prospect Carter Edwards committed.
With Williams and Rodrigue now getting to know one another, the Buffs might be in business to bring in some offensive tackle reinforcements.
"Coach Rod is just awesome," Williams said. "For me to only know him for a month, he's a guy you would love to have as a coach. He's a really great guy. He knows everything, he makes sure his players are comfortable in the system they're in and he develops a lot of really great o-linemen."
....
Rodrigue definitely needs to close on another OT before this recruiting cycle. He appears to like Williams a lot so if his personal evaluation overtakes Williams' lack of offers, I say go for it.
