I am not surprised as I have always had a fairly pragmatic view of CU and have understood where this job truly ranks which is not a top job. However, I really felt RG might be the guy to help move the needle. He has done some great things so far. The more I read though and the more I think about it realistically its becoming clear we just can not shake the second tier reputation we have. I fear this hire and the complete lack of excitement it may bring to a fan base and donor base that is so badly needed at this critical juncture.
I know i am being dramatic and I know that nothing is done yet. I also know where we stand nationally and the RG has an extremely difficult job with also a shortage of candidates this year.
I will remain hopeful and support anyone for 3-4 years as they help us take the next level hopefully.

I should be excited about this but as reality sets in I can't help but feel apathy and disappointment. Come on RG ... .surprise us all and throw a mighty head fake for a homerun hire.
