Mullen teammates Marcus McElroy (left) and Christian Cumber (right) are two of the top-rated in-state prospects that will be on campus at Colorado on Sunday for the Buffaloes' recruiting event.

The Buffaloes are planning to host 31 in-state prospects during tomorrow's recruiting event in Boulder. It is commonly referred to as a "Junior Day" but there will also be a number of top 2018 in-state recruits, currently sophomores, in attendance. As I have posted on the board a couple times already, there will be some big news that comes from the event. I'd imagine that news will break sometime in the afternoon.

Basically Ohio State pledge Jake Moretti and Michigan commit Dylan McCaffrey are the only top in-state prospects from the 2017 and 2018 classes that won't be attending the Buffs' recruiting event on Sunday. Cherry Creek teammates Jonathan Van Diest and Dante Sparaco, and the Mullen foursome of Marcus McElroy Jr., Christian Cumber, Isiahia Banks and Adrian Jackson, are among the headliners.

Highly regarded Valor Christian defensive tackle Noah Elliss will also be up at CU tomorrow. Mike MacIntyre developed a connection with his father Luther Elliss, a nine-year NFL player and two-time pro bowler, during his coaching tenure at San Jose State. Luther is now the team chaplain for the Denver Broncos. The younger Elliss is intrigued by interest from USC and Utah, his father's alma mater, but he has also been very receptive to the Buffaloes' interest early on. Ray Robinson is a 2018 recruit that hasn't been discussed on the board yet. He might be receiving an offer from Colorado in the very near future. Robinson is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound safety prospect that earned All-Colorado and first-team all-conference honors after recording 95 tackles as a sophomore. He is coached by his dad Mark Robinson at Highlands Ranch. Click here to watch his sophomore highlights.

Valor Christian's Blake Stenstrom is an in-state quarterback recruit from the 2018 class to keep an eye on. He saw some action as Dylan McCaffrey's back-up during his sophomore season. His dad Steve played four years in the NFL, and started a total of 10 games, in the late '90s. Stenstrom will be up in Boulder on Sunday. Click here to watch his brief sophomore highlights.

Obviously not all 31 of the attendees will be legit Pac-12 level recruits. Here are some of the other notable prospects that are expected to check out what the Buffaloes have to offer tomorrow: Chatfield athlete Dalton Keene (2017), Arapahoe offensive lineman Blake Carette (2018), Thomas Jefferson athlete Donavaughn Baucom (2017), Legend safety Chad Muma (2018), Pomona running back Max Borghi (2018), Pine Creek quarterback Brock Domann (2017), ThunderRidge offensive lineman Heston Paige (2017), Columbine defensive end Jackson Block (2017), Pomona offensive lineman Ezekiel Creps (2018), Highlands Ranch offensive lineman Cal Neubert (2017) and Pomona quarterback Ryan Marquez (2018).

*** Colorado plans to hold additional "Junior Day" events, which will include out-of-state prospects, on April 2 and April 9. Quarterback target Chase Cord will be in Boulder for the event on April 9, which will coincide with the Buffaloes' spring game.

*** Diabo Valley College safety Kyle Trego is currently in Boulder on his official visit. All indications are that by the time his visit is concluded on mid-day Sunday, he will have committed and signed with Colorado. Trego would then arrive on May 31 and have four years to play three with the Buffaloes.

*** Spring practices begin at CU on Wednesday. Mike MacIntyre will be hosting a pre-spring roundtable with the media on Tuesday. There is no word yet on exactly which spring practices will be open to the public and media, but it sounds like most will be closed.
